South Louisiana Medical Associates located in Houma was formed in 1978 to serve as an educational affiliate of the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation. SLMA was founded with a public mission including teaching and training of residents in all major specialties providing them hands-on experiences under the direct supervision of a full time medical staff. We offer Primary Care Adult and Pediatric servi

ces through our participation in the Louisiana Community Care and KidMed Programs. Our Women's Clinic handles the needs of the women in our community by offering evaluation, treatment, education and management of Obstetric and Gynecological services with special emphasis on the under-insured or low income patients. The goal of our Pediatric Clinic is to provide safe preventative and therapeutic care to all pediatric patients to improve the quality of their life and ensure their health as they grow into adulthood. We offer specialty services in Cardiology, Neurology, Critical Care, high risk OB/GYN, Opthalamology, Orthopedics and Urology.
