Earlier today, our Community Problem Oriented Policing (CPOP) Unit attended the Tex-Trude Annual Safety Fair located at 2001 Sheldon Road. Our deputies had a great time engaging with attendees by sharing information on the “See Something, Say Something” initiative and providing fingerprinting kits to promote child safety. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and share valuable safety resources.

Thank you to all the residents who attended today’s safety social at Oakwood Trails Apartments, located at 6131 Louetta Rd. Oakwood Trails is one step closer to being CPTED certified.

Strong partnerships make a difference! 🤝

The Harris County Sheriff's Office Behavioral Health Training Unit is proud to partner with Lone Star College–Kingwood to help future nurses better understand law enforcement’s role in responding to mental health crises.

By sharing real-world experiences and perspectives, we’re helping bridge the gap between public safety and healthcare, preparing future nurses to better support individuals in crisis.

Together, we’re building stronger partnerships for a safer, healthier community!

Our Harris County Sheriff's Office Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) was out in District 1 near Cypress Medical Drive, engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness who have been living in an encampment in the area.

Our HOT deputies took the time to connect with those living at the encampment while also working with the property owners to address concerns and identify possible solutions.

We understand that homelessness is a complex issue, and our goal is not simply to address an encampment, but to connect individuals with resources, services, and opportunities that can help improve their circumstances. At the same time, we recognize the importance of working with property owners and the surrounding community to address their concerns.

This is what community policing is about—building relationships, listening to everyone involved, and working together to find solutions that benefit the community.

This week during our Crisis Intervention Response Team collaboration training, we had the opportunity to recognize three of our Harris County Sheriff's Office CIRT deputies with commendations for their selfless service in the field.

Their actions are great examples of what CIRT is all about. In one incident, deputies climbed a ladder in the middle of a busy freeway to reach an individual who was suicidal and help bring that person to safety. In another, deputies were able to de-escalate a dangerous situation involving an armed individual threatening su***de.

These situations are never easy, and they require patience, courage, teamwork, and compassion. Proud of these deputies for stepping up when it mattered most and representing CIRT and our agency in such a positive way. Great work! 👏💙
