The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine achieves our mission through patient services that address the needs of women of all ages, including routine obstetrics and gynecologic care, education of medical students and residents, and clinical and laboratory research conducted by our outstanding faculty. The department conducts research in both the clinical, translati

The department currently has over 60 faculty members and more than 75 volunteer faculty members assisting with clinical care, residency training and research. These faculty members cover clinical responsibilities at various locations such as Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women and affiliates including Texas Children's Hospital, St. DeBakey VA Hospital, and Harris County Hospital District including its outlying clinics.

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) will be hosting two HYBRID Ob/Gyn CME courses on Sat, 9/26, and Sun, 9/27 🗓️

On Sat, 9/26, Dr. Joan Mastro, along with other MFM experts and sonographers, will lead the “Essentials of Obstetric Ultrasound: A Hands-On Experience” course, which consists of didactic lectures followed by a hands-on ultrasound experience (live models and simulators).

On Sun, 9/27, Dr. Laura Detti will lead the “Ultrasound for Advanced REI: Elevating Clinical Excellence” course, which will provide participants with advanced, focused training in REI ultrasound techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making in reproductive medicine.

Join us Friday, Sep 25th 📆 for our first Houston Menopause Summit hosted by Dr. Nina Ali 👩‍⚕️ and Dr. Karen Horst 👩‍⚕️

This HYBRID summit will address deficiencies through focused, guideline-based instruction on menopause physiology, symptom recognition, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment, including appropriate HT use and alternatives while dispelling common misconceptions. It will also highlight management of patients with obesity, mental health, and pelvic health concerns, and the role of health disparities and social determinants of care.
