At Oasis of Life Counseling, Trauma-Informed Care approach is imperative for times of tragedy and traumatic experiences. It’s effective for your emotional healing process which cannot be mishandled. The first step for healing is to acknowledge and honor your own feelings. Your feelings are yours, no matter who didn’t agree with them, invalidated them, or try to minimize them.

Lateness can be a trauma response. Trauma can cause tardiness through nervous system dysregulation (fight/flight/freeze), leading to anxiety, avoidance, time blindness...such as inaccurate time sense, or getting "stuck," making it hard to leave or start tasks, often rooted in past chaotic environments or a subconscious belief of unworthiness, turning time management into a threat response. Procrastination, a form of this avoidance, serves to protect the overwhelmed brain from perceived danger, while also linking to issues like ADHD, PTSD, and complex trauma's impact on executive function and self-worth.

This can be treated by applying CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Trauma Informed Care.
