We Saved You a Seat at the Table.

Last month, more than 60 community leaders, partners, volunteers, and change makers came together to launch the 2027 Black Men’s Wellness Day Houston Campaign. Inspired by our 2027 Honorary Chair, Steve Francis, we committed to an ambitious goal: 10,000 attendees and 5,000+ individual health screenings to help save lives across our city.

Now it’s time for the next step.

This isn’t just another committee meeting—it’s an opportunity to build a movement that changes the trajectory of Black men’s health in Houston. Every partnership, every volunteer, and every voice helps us reach one more father, brother, son, and friend before a preventable health issue becomes a crisis.

Over 60 leaders, partners, advocates, and community champions came together today to begin building toward the 5th Annual Houston Black Men’s Wellness Day.

We are grateful to our 2027 Honorary Chair, Steve Francis, for joining us and lending his voice to this movement. A special thank you to our Partners at Thrivent Financial for hosting us and helping create space for the conversations, connections, and commitments that will move this work forward.

Now the call is clear: Houston needs every healthcare provider, business leader, faith leader, nonprofit, volunteer, and community advocate at the table as we work to help Black men and families live longer, healthier lives.

The movement is growing, the vision is clear, and together, we will make a generational impact.

Houston, we are building toward something special.

As we prepare to celebrate the 5th Annual Houston Black Men’s Wellness Day in 2027, I’m inviting friends, family, community leaders, healthcare professionals, business owners, pastors, and advocates to join us for our Kickoff Committee Meeting next Tuesday.

This movement has grown because people across Houston have chosen to care, serve, partner, and stand up for the health and wellness of Black men and their families. Now, we are coming together again to make next year’s event the greatest one yet.

We are grateful to be partnering with Thrivent, who will host the meeting. Our 2027 Honorary Chair, Steve Francis, will also be in attendance, and food will be provided.
