iN2L is more than technology—it gives our team another way to spark conversation, encourage participation, and create engaging experiences tailored to our residents’ interests. We love seeing team members like Awa use it with such creativity and enthusiasm!

FREE Alzheimer’s & Dementia Caregiver Series at Laural Parke — Wednesdays Beginning August 26 💜

Friends, if you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia—or know someone who is struggling through this journey—I want to share a free resource that may truly help. 💜

Laural Parke is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to host an Empowering Caregiver Series. Each class stands alone, so you can attend one or as many as you’d like.

All classes are Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.:
💜 August 26 — Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia
💜 September 2 — Building Foundations of Caregiving
💜 September 9 — Communicating Effectively
💜 September 16 — Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors
💜 September 23 — Building Brain-Healthy Habits and our Walk to End Alzheimer’s kickoff

These one-hour programs are free and open to the public. Parking is free, and refreshments will be served.

Dog Days of Summer! It's Indy enjoying a "Laural Barke Bone". ❤️ 🐕

Today marks the traditional end of the “Dog Days of Summer,” but did you know the phrase has nothing to do with our four-legged friends lounging through the August heat?

The expression dates back thousands of years and refers to Sirius—known as the “Dog Star”—the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major. Ancient observers associated its appearance in the summer sky with the hottest days of the year, eventually giving us the phrase we still use today.

Of course, at Laural Parke, we think the Dog Days are also a pretty good excuse to celebrate some of the dogs who call our community home! 🐶❤️

Laural Parke is a pet-friendly community, and we know that home just wouldn't feel quite the same without our beloved companions. From daily walks around campus to friendly greetings in the hallways, our resident pups are very much a part of the Laural Parke family.

As we say goodbye to the Dog Days of Summer, we're sharing a few of the furry faces who make life at Laural Parke a little brighter—and a lot more fun.
