During National Breastfeeding Month, we're proud to recognize the work happening across Legacy Community Health to help parents and babies get the support they need for a healthy start.

This month, our teams connected with patients and families at Legacy locations across Houston, Fort Bend, and Beaumont, sharing breastfeeding education, answering questions, and helping families access trusted resources throughout their infant feeding journey.

We also highlighted the work of Yanett Hodgson, Legacy's Lactation Consultant, whose guidance helps parents build confidence and navigate feeding decisions with personalized support.

As we close out Community Health Worker Week, we celebrate the Community Health Workers who bring Health Beyond Care to life every day. They build trust, break down barriers, connect families to resources, provide education, and guide people through their health journeys with confidence and support.

From encouraging preventive screenings that can save lives to supporting parents in their children's development, our CHWs make a lasting difference far beyond the walls of our clinics. They bridge the gap between healthcare and everyday life, ensuring people have the tools, information, and support they need to thrive.

As National Health Center Week comes to a close, we're celebrating the people who make it all possible. 💙

For nearly 50 years, Legacy Community Health has grown from a single clinic into one of the nation's largest community health centers, serving more than 200,000 patients each year.

This week, Team Legacy came together across multiple retreats and gatherings to reconnect, celebrate achievements, and look ahead to the future. From School-Based Health Care teams preparing for a new school year to clinicians, medical assistants, front desk staff, and support teams gathering across our region, these moments reminded us that our greatest strength has always been our people.

Every appointment, every classroom visit, every patient interaction, and every life changed starts with a team committed to serving our communities with compassion and purpose.

Please note: All Legacy locations will be closing Wednesday August 5 at 12:00 PM for provider, medical assistant, and front desk staff retreats.

Exception: Legacy Beaumont North will close at 10:00 AM.

The following locations will remain open until 5:00 PM with limited services:

Legacy Fifth Ward Lyons
Legacy Montrose
Legacy Pasadena Southmore
Legacy Southwest

All other locations will resume normal business hours on Thursday, August 6.

Today is World Hepatitis Day and one simple step can make a big difference: get tested.

Hepatitis B and C are serious liver infections that often have few or no symptoms, which means many people don’t know they have them until significant liver damage has already occurred. In fact, hepatitis can go undetected for years, making early detection especially important.

The good news? There is hope.

✅ Hepatitis C is curable when diagnosed and treated.
✅ Vaccines are available for Hepatitis A and B.
✅ Testing can help protect your health and prevent serious complications.
