This weekend, I did something I haven’t done in 13 years.
I competed in a water ski tournament. 🌊
For context, I grew up skiing. It was a huge part of my life and something I absolutely loved. In fact, I skied competitively for my university.
Then life happened.
A career.
Marriage.
Kids.
A business.
And before I knew it, 13 years had passed.
Not because I stopped loving it.
Just because other things became the priority.
Standing on the dock waiting for my turn, I realized the last time I competed, I wasn’t a wife, a mom, or carrying the mental load of an entire household.
I was a completely different version of myself.
But the second I got in the water, it all came rushing back. 💙
The joy.
The excitement.
The feeling of doing something simply because I love it.
And it reminded me of something I think so many moms need to hear:
It is never too late to reconnect with parts of yourself that have been quietly waiting in the background.
The hobbies.
The passions.
The dreams.
The things that make you feel alive.
Motherhood asks so much of us. It’s easy to spend years taking care of everyone else while putting pieces of ourselves on hold.
But those parts of you still matter. ✨
In fact, I think doing things that bring you joy makes you an even better mom.
Because when your cup is full, when you feel energized, fulfilled, and connected to yourself, everyone benefits. 🤍
That’s a big reason why I created Happy Mom Collective.
A space for moms to reconnect with themselves, feel supported, and remember they’re more than the mental load they carry every day.
The next in-person Happy Mom Collective is in NYC on Sunday, June 7th.
