In all seriousness though, oncologic emergencies are no joke! Cord compression, sepsis, bowel obstructions, SIADH are all very serious medical conditions that (often) require urgent or even emergent attention. However you get there, get there fast! You never know how quickly these situations can turn from problematic to life threatening!

Side note, I secretly hope this reel does well cos I literally injured myself producing it… 😅🤦🏼‍♀️

‼️Perspective MATTERS.

Wording matters… TIMING matters.

What may seem routine and commonplace for those of us working in healthcare may be earth shattering for patients especially when it comes to diagnoses like cancer.

The urgency to treat and coordinate appts may be there, but even in the chaos, you need to allow a moment or even a day or two to process the news that you just delivered or else everything that you say afterwards will be lost.

Empathy and compassion are what make us healthcare workers… Respect and decency are what make us human.

So… Be kind and courteous to your fellow humans, please!
