Resident Spotlight: Jerome “Jerry” B.
We are proud to recognize Jerome “Jerry”, a remarkable resident whose contributions helped shape America’s achievements in aerospace and space exploration. A native Texan, Jerry was born and raised in Houston and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1963. Just eight months after graduation, at the age of 23, Jerry was hired by NASA during the early years of its Houston expansion and played a role in some of the nation’s most historic space programs.
During his distinguished 42-year career as an Aeronautical Engineer, Jerry worked on numerous pioneering projects, including the Gemini, Apollo, Space Lab, and Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) missions, along with several other aerospace initiatives. He also had the opportunity to work closely with Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, contributing to an era that transformed space exploration and inspired generations around the world. Today, Jerry remains one of our most active residents, enthusiastically participating in community events and signing up for many of the adventurous outings offered by our Assisted Living neighborhood.
