when we say real warrior training, we mean it.

our swordmaster Kat | Sword Training • HEMA has been training in HEMA for 5 years.

HEMA stands for Historical European Martial Arts.

They are real techniques from a time when blocking incorrectly meant getting your head taken off.

Jay has been training in Moo Duk Kwan for over two decades.

MDK is a mixed martial art from classical Chinese arts and Japanese arts.

it was taught on the Air Force bases in Korea, where greats like Chuck Norris learned for the first time. (Jay’s lineage even goes through him.)

it is an effective martial art with hip-motivated kicks similar to Muay Thai.

Kelbie has been training in the gym for 7 years and is a certified personal trainer.

She’s been training for 4 years and boxing for 3 years under Jim Murphey (a student of Benny the Jet, who also has roots in the MDK).

at Camp Valkyrie our fantasy training is no fairytale.

Train like a warrior. Read with your Troupe.

What does that even mean?

At Camp Valkyrie, we’re more than fitness.

It’s where you become the main character of your story.

Camp Valkyrie was stared because Kelbie was tired.

Tired of a fitness industry that profits off women’s insecurity, that sells you a smaller version of yourself under the guise of a goal.

We deserve better than that.

So she built something different.

Not a place that tells women to shrink into a mold that was never made for them.

A place that dares them to become warriors.

To train their bodies, not to look a certain way, but to be capable of great things.

But here’s the truth about every warrior’s journey:

No one becomes legendary alone.

That’s where the Troupe comes in.

When we started Camp Valkyrie, we never could’ve imagined the community we’ve been blessed with.

The most bad-ass, hilarious, kind, ride-or-die people we’ve ever met.

Warriors who train together and readers who adventure together.
