Sometimes, the right support can make a big difference in someone’s workday.
For some people with ADHD, that support might look like a quieter workspace, written instructions, changes to a schedule, or a different way of organizing tasks.
Here’s something you may not realize: ADHD can qualify as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) when it substantially limits one or more major life activities. In those situations, a qualified employee may be entitled to reasonable workplace accommodations.
That doesn’t mean everyone with ADHD needs or wants the same support. Accommodations are based on the individual, their job, and what can help them perform its essential functions.
Support doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Sometimes, a reasonable adjustment can help someone do their job in a way that works better for them.
