HOPE Clinic

HOPE Clinic HOPE Clinic is a non-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) with three locations in Southw Located in Alief, Houston’s most diverse neighborhood.

The Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) established HOPE Clinic in 2002 as a four-hours-a-month, volunteer-run, non-profit clinic, providing culturally and linguistically competent care for Houston’s underserved and linguistically isolated Asian communities. HOPE Clinic gained recognition in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, when it provided services to 3,000 of the 15,000 Vietnamese evacuees from

Louisiana. Today HOPE Clinic has grown into a full-time Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing over 13,000 patient visits a year. HOPE Clinic offers healthcare services to all regardless of ability to pay. In particular, HOPE Clinic serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income, and limited English proficiency patients. A unique characteristic of HOPE Clinic is its capacity to provide services in 30+ different languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Burmese, Arabic, and Spanish.

They donated **80 baby care bags** to help support families in our community. Each bag includes:

💜 2 pacifiers
🌙 2 mobile crib toys

🚗 Helping Families Keep Little Passengers Safe

Car seat safety can make a big difference in protecting children on the road. That’s why HOPE Clinic hosted a community car seat event to provide families with car seats, booster seats, and education on proper installation.

During the event, 16 families received support, including:

👶 7 rear-facing car seats
🚗 13 booster seats
✅ 1 car seat inspection

Our Health Education team, including Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs), worked directly with families to provide education and guidance on proper car seat installation.

The car seats were provided through Safe Riders, helping us connect families with an important safety resource right in their community.

This is part of HOPE Clinic’s ongoing commitment to providing health education and practical resources that help families stay safe and healthy. ❤️

Young voices, real conversations - A community that shows up

HOPE Clinic’s Behavioral Health Department was proud to serve as a panel moderator at NAMI Greater Houston’s Pathways to Hope Conference, with youth from AliefVotes serving as panelists.

The conversation brought young voices to the forefront, creating space to share experiences, perspectives, and ideas around mental health and the issues that matter to our community.

For us, behavioral health is about more than providing care. It’s also about showing up, listening, creating safe spaces for conversation, and making sure young voices are heard.

We’re grateful to NAMI and AliefVotes for bringing this important conversation to the community. 💙💚

HOPE Clinic partnered with Houston Volunteer Lawyers for a Civic Engagement Information Session to support community members who may be eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship.

During the session, participants had the opportunity to:

Could low-dose aspirin help protect your pregnancy?

Did you know that some pregnant patients may benefit from taking low-dose aspirin (81 mg) to help reduce the risk of preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication that can affect both mom and baby?

At HOPE Clinic, our OB/GYN team screens every pregnant patient for preeclampsia risk factors during early prenatal care and provides personalized guidance on whether low-dose aspirin is appropriate.

If you're pregnant or planning a pregnancy:
✅ Schedule your prenatal visit early.
✅ Ask your provider about your risk for preeclampsia.
✅ Never start low-dose aspirin without first talking to your healthcare provider.
