🎉 We’re celebrating 10 years of Grief Recovery Center this month! 🎉

In the last 10 years, we've learned, grown, and had the privilege to be a part of so many incredible lives. We’ve had the honor of walking with so many people through grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and more, and we’re truly touched by the trust that is placed in us every single day.

Remember: everyone needs help at some point or another. We aren’t meant to go through this human experience by ourselves. No matter what you’re going through, it’s okay to ask for help. You are not alone.

We’re so grateful to you for being a part of our community and our journey. 💚

We look forward to serving our Houston community for many years to come!

Meet Grief Recovery Center clinician Cynthia Drew!

“My preferred modality for treatment is integrating Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Family Systems approaches to develop an environment that enhances emotional growth. The work of supporting couples in crisis is special. I view couple’s therapy as supporting the couple’s individual needs while addressing the couple’s concerns that impede healthy patterns of communication and problem solving. I am committed to viewing the therapeutic relationship as is at its strongest when commitment is intentional and I can influence future generations.”

Is your child struggling with anxiety, difficult behaviors, or having a hard time expressing their feelings? Play therapy offers a safe and effective way for children to heal and grow.

Play therapy is a special type of counseling that uses play to help children understand and work through their feelings. Because children often have difficulty expressing themselves with words, play therapy provides a natural and comfortable way for them to communicate.

Using toys like puppets, dolls, art supplies, and sand trays, trained therapists guide children in:

* Expressing emotions they struggle to verbalize: helping them find healthy ways to show how they feel, like anger, sadness, or fear.
* Processing experiences in a healthy way: especially after difficult events like a loss, a move, or changes in the family.
* Building problem-solving and social skills: learning how to make friends, share, and handle disagreements in a positive way.

Play therapy is an effective tool for addressing stress, anxiety, trauma, and behavioral challenges, providing a supportive space to help the child grieve, build confidence and develop emotional resilience.
