Our Mission

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. NAHSE’s purpose is to ensure greater participation of minority groups in the health field.

Today the country rests. Healthcare doesn't.

While most of America takes the day off, nurses, techs, environmental services staff, transporters, and the teams behind them are clocking in — because care doesn't observe holidays.

This Labor Day, NAHSE Houston honors every healthcare worker on shift today, and the generations of organized labor whose fight gave us the weekend, the 40-hour week, and workplace protections we now take for granted.

Three days of sessions, forums, luncheons, and a Scholarship & Awards Gala, with ACHE Qualified Education credit available.

At NAHSE, we're committed to advancing health equity and improving outcomes in the communities that need it most. And that work doesn't start in a hospital — it starts with a meal. 💙🧡

Food insecurity is one of the most powerful social determinants of health. When a child goes hungry, it affects their development, their learning, and their long-term well-being. Ending childhood hunger is health care.

That's why we're partnering with Kids Meals to help feed Houston's children — and we need YOU on the team. No experience required, just heart and a few hours to serve.
