He could READ it... but he couldn’t RECALL it. 💙
When he first came to me, he was able to read the words, but recalling information was difficult.
Now, with less stress in his body, look at what happened.
His mom captured this beautiful moment on video. I asked him, “Do you remember how big the dolphin was?”
He was fully engaged, gave me a descriptive word, and recalled the word “big” from the text he had just read!
That moment made us so happy because it showed that he wasn’t just reading the words, he was processing, retaining and recalling the information.
When child’s body is under stress, learning and recall can become much harder.
When we help the body feel safe and regulated, we can create a better foundation for learning.
** I can help your child build stronger recall after reading by addressing the stress that may be getting in the way.
If your child can read but struggles to remember what they just read, send me a message or Book a call.
