We are pleased to share the Summer 2026 neuroscience newsletter from Kraus TBI & Multi-Specialty Institute: “Advances in Brain Injury Care.”

In this issue, we discuss depression after traumatic brain injury and announce the upcoming addition of FDA-cleared Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder.

Depression can significantly affect recovery, motivation, cognitive functioning, relationships, and overall quality of life following a traumatic brain injury. For appropriately selected patients who meet the diagnostic criteria for Major Depressive Disorder, TMS may provide a non-invasive, non-medication treatment option—particularly when traditional treatments have not provided adequate relief.

TMS uses targeted magnetic stimulation to influence brain networks involved in mood regulation. Treatment is performed in the office, requires no anesthesia, and allows patients to return home immediately afterward.
