As a kid, I was taught to be creative. I am fortunate that some of it is a natural gift… but, some is due to being encouraged along the way, and another part of it is because there were plenty of moments when I just needed to “make do”.

Today, I am really thankful for that creativity!

We wanted to gift some flowers to Luxury Dialysis (𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥, 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦) and gift cards to five dialysis techs that are there.

When I got to the Starbucks for my gift cards, they didn’t have any envelopes.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸-𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆:

• I asked for a batch of their cup holders and large stickers… and then made my own (𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳-𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭, 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧!) gifting “envelopes/pockets”. ⭐️

I know that all of our patients and clients are wonderful people, and know even more wonderful people. Could you please take a moment to help Maxine Elisa Bernal-Plante (and family) find a loving home for this sweet poochie?

I like to share things that are useful to me, things that may be able to help someone else, things that are interesting and things I like.

Here’s my new handy-dandy way of keeping my office bags visually marked, since I now have two that look the same.

Typically I carry sheets in these bags. But, since I also provide chiropractic work in the Houston office, sometimes I may have some other things in a bag too… and this keeps me from accidentally taking the wrong one to the wrong office space, especially while I am restructuring the Friendswood portion of my practice.

I found these on Amazon and can highly recommend them (https://a.co/d/0bJb0phv). 🙂

Oh! I forgot to add… I bought these bags because they carry the roughly same amount as my old bags, even though they are 1” shorter and 1” less wide. Things are a tiny bit more cramped… but what I needed was just a little smaller footprint with basically a similar capacity. Plus… I prefer a roller-blade wheel to a spinner wheel.

So, when you read that people return this bag frequently… for me, that became a real win-win!

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 *𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧* 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐧𝐨𝐰?

I am dedicated to my work… and I plan to do this long past retirement age, if I am able.

I’ve learned and shared so much. And, I only plan to grow.

I knew in 4th grade that I would become a chiropractor. And, before I started college, I discovered that I wanted my work to be heavily influenced by bodywork & massage (preferably Rolfing and Structural Integration. And, indeed, Structural work has become an underpinning over the years).

In the mid-90’s after graduating chiropractic college, I finished my post-grad chiropractic orthopedics courses and then started to dip my toes into movement work. I learned pieces of Feldenkrais (to the point that I even thought about becoming a Feldenkrais practitioner, though I was unable to find the time to take that coursework).

In the 2000’s after adding my massage license, I eventually became certified as a Hanna Somatics movement coach.

Movement work minimally shows up in my practice at brief moments in time. But, I expect that as I grow older, it will migrate deeper into the practice and become a greater part of this work I love.

You know, practice is all very organic, and sometimes you just have to wait and see when something you have learned will turn into an integral part of *how* you work. You can’t force it. You can only nurture it and wait to see where it fits. When the time is right, it becomes available.

I know that not everyone gets this opportunity, and it is certainly a piece of me. So, I would like to say thank you for allowing me to be your practitioner.

I’m thankful that I’ve been given longevity in my chosen path/s within the healing arts.

I look forward to serving you for years to come. 😌

Last week someone brought me fresh from-the-garden tomatoes (which I failed to take a photo of… and they were soooo beautiful). And, today I received a homemade flan.
