All eyes on your kids

Lifeguards Are Not Babysitters!

Lifeguards are trained to respond in emergencies—but they should never be your child’s only line of defense at the pool.

Drowning can happen in seconds, and even the most attentive lifeguard can’t watch every child every second—especially in crowded or chaotic environments.

Parents and caregivers must stay within arm’s reach of young or inexperienced swimmers at all times. Active supervision saves lives.

Let’s work together to keep our kids safe.

Remember this: If it's play time in the water for them, it's work time for you. If you want to relax in or around the water, designate a day when you can go without them. If they are there, you are on the clock and watching at all times.

Pool preps for a hard freeze 🥶

1. We removed the Polaris automatic pool cleaner. With the cold water temperatures, it’ll only become entangled and can possibly damage itself. We all know how expensive Polaris parts can be.

2. Run ALL your pumps 24 / 7 starting on Saturday or sooner if you are farther North of the Houston area. This includes the booster pump for your cleaner, as well as any water feature pumps. Everything needs to be running to prevent freezing. Some of you that have newer systems and have freeze protection, the pumps will come on automatically or set your running time to 24 hrs. For those of you with older systems just pull the pegs off of your timers.

3. You can see that there is a chlorine tablet floaty in the pool. This is a salt pool and when the temperatures drop below 40 degrees, the chlorine generator will not make chlorine for salt pools, so this is an extra protection. especially if there is any type of power loss.

4. The other two pictures are how to winterize a pump if the motor is not working or if you lose power. Open the pump trap lid and leave it loose, and then remove the two plugs from the bottom of the pump so that all water is drained and keep all the valves open. If you are doing this procedure, make sure the motor is turned off and cannot come back on as you do not want the pump to try to run until you’ve reassembled and primed it.
