The mural is finished! We are so excited to have this new public art featuring some of our little town’s history. We hope that you all enjoy this new addition to our town.

Thanks again to Gavin Bird for designing and installing this mural, and to Susan George and family for allowing the mural to be added to their building! This America250 project was made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission, through support from the State of Mississippi and National Endowment for the Arts.

Recent visitors to the Chickasaw County Heritage Museum were Tom Franks from Yucaipa, CA, daughter Tammy Loken, Yucaipa, CA on right and daughter Julie Franks on left from Cerritos, CA. Tom’s ancestors were from Chickasaw County.

In Saltillo, Mississippi, award-winning Chickasaw artist Brent Greenwood recently completed this mural of the original Chickasaw landowner of the area, Yukekalatubby or Euclatubba.
The mural features Yukekalatubby, or Euclatubba, and native animals to the Chickasaw Homeland among vibrant colors.

🏺 Step back more than 2,200 years into Mississippi’s past at the remarkable Ingomar Mounds in Union County.

Located just 7 miles from the New Albany Trailhead, Ingomar Mounds is the oldest documented man-made site in Union County and one of the region’s most significant archaeological treasures.

A selection of those artifacts is on loan and on display at the Union County Heritage Museum, they host annual educational events for students and adults. For additional information, please contact the museum.
