At Expert Pain, we deliver state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional pain management therapies. Our approach is designed to help those suffering from chronic pain without relying on overused prescription medications that have led to the devastating opioid epidemic. Dr. Skaribas has been a leader in the application of targeted Interventional pain management therapies, including neurostimulation techniques to treat chronic pain caused by Spine pathology, Failed back post laminectomy syndromes, failed back surgery, CRPS, Migraines and more. While our expertise in pain management is second to none, our patients are more than just problems to be diagnosed and solved. They are people who are suffering, and in many cases, have given up hope of ever being rid of their chronic pain. In spite of their challenges, they have trusted us with their wellbeing.

Kicking off Day 3 of the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) Annual Meeting with another full day of engaging, interactive sessions focused on the latest advances in neuromodulation.

The energy, collaboration, and scientific discussions at this meeting continue to reinforce why neuromodulation is one of the most rapidly evolving fields in medicine. From innovative technologies to real-world clinical applications, every session offers new insights that can directly translate into better outcomes for our patients.

As someone who has dedicated much of my career to advancing Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) stimulation, it’s an honor to share experiences, exchange ideas with colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of evidence-based neuromodulation. DRG therapy continues to demonstrate its unique value in treating focal, chronic neuropathic pain and expanding the possibilities of personalized pain care.

Grateful to be part of such an outstanding community of clinicians, researchers, and innovators committed to improving patients’ lives.

Is 2026 the turning point for cash-pay and concierge medicine in pain care?

I am honored to join an exceptional group of colleagues as a panelist at ASPN 2026 for an important discussion on the future of patient access, physician-led care, and evolving practice models.

As innovation continues to advance across neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation, we must also examine how our healthcare delivery models can evolve to provide patients with more personalized, timely, and comprehensive care.

Panel: Cash Pay and Concierge Medicine: Is 2026 the Turning Point?
Time: Saturday July 18, 3:10–3:30 PM
Location: Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Florida

I look forward to sharing my experience, learning from my fellow panelists, and engaging in a thoughtful conversation about the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of pain medicine.

Proud to support the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience and its continued commitment to advancing education, innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.

See you at ASPN in Miami, July 16–19, 2026.

Neuromodulation is no longer simply an alternative in pain medicine—it is helping define the future of personalized pain care.

For more than two decades, my work has focused on advancing the responsible use of spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation for patients living with complex, chronic, and neuropathic pain.

True innovation is not measured by technology alone. It requires experience, precise patient selection, technical expertise, evidence-based decision-making, and a commitment to improving meaningful patient outcomes.

I am proud to contribute to the continued evolution of neuromodulation through clinical practice, research, education, and collaboration with colleagues who are pushing our field forward.

I am equally proud to support the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience. ASPN provides an essential platform for physicians, researchers, and innovators to exchange knowledge, challenge conventional thinking, and advance the science and practice of pain medicine.

The future of pain care will be shaped by those willing to lead, collaborate, and continue asking a critical question:

How can we use neuromodulation more intelligently, more precisely, and more effectively for every patient?

Chronic neuropathic pain in patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease is common and often overlooked.

CMT is a hereditary peripheral neuropathy characterized by progressive degeneration of the nerves that carry motor and sensory signals between the spinal cord and the limbs. This disease often leads to muscle weakness, sensory loss, and significant neuropathic pain.

While CMT traditionally has been viewed through the lens of motor dysfunction and sensory loss, neuropathic pain is increasingly recognized as a meaningful and often debilitating aspect of the disease.

Spinal cord stimulation is a proven interventional therapy that helps treat this chronic neuropathic pain, with published evidence demonstrating significant pain relief and improved quality of life following SCS implantation in patients with chronic pain due to this condition.

Common symptoms don’t always mean a common diagnoses!

Recently, I evaluated a patient with persistent hip pain that did not fully fit the typical mechanical patterns. Rather than stopping at the usual explanations, we proceeded with an MRI of the hip and pelvis. The finding was unexpected: a pelvic mass consistent with a liposarcoma.

This case was a powerful reminder that rare pathologies do exist, and they can present as very common complaints. The key is not to over-investigate every patient, but to remain clinically curious when symptoms persist, evolve, or do not fully align with the expected diagnosis.

My peer-reviewed publication, A Real-World Evaluation of Adjunctive Peripheral Nerve Stimulation for Superior Cluneal Neuropathy Post-Spinal Cord Stimulation, is a free publication for available now for anyone to read!

Even with successful spinal cord stimulation (SCS) therapy, pain of peripheral nerve origin can occur. Such areas of focal pain may be suitable for peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS). In this publication, we report on the early clinical and technical aspects of a retrospective case series of PNS used for superior cluneal neuropathy as an adjunct to SCS.
