Some of the best recipes come with a story, and our "Tanglewood Tasting" series has become one of our residents' favorite traditions.

Inspired by our annual Chili Cook-Off, this monthly gathering invites residents to share treasured family recipes centered around a different theme. From macaroni dishes and decadent desserts to this month's delicious appetizer showcase, each event brings our community together through food, memories and conversation.

This month's spread featured everything from classic cheeseballs, savory meatballs, cream cheese-covered olives, baked Brie and shrimp dip to many other longtime family favorites. More than just great food, Tanglewood Tasting is a wonderful way for residents to celebrate their culinary traditions, connect with neighbors and create new memories around the table.

A day of culture, discovery and wonderful flavors! ✨

Residents of The Village of Tanglewood enjoyed an inspiring outing to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sugar Land, where they explored the temple’s beautiful architecture, intricate craftsmanship and peaceful surroundings.

The experience continued with lunch at Aga’s Restaurant, where everyone enjoyed a delicious taste of Indian cuisine and time together around the table.

It was a memorable day filled with learning, connection and new experiences—just one more way residents at The Village of Tanglewood continue to live life well.

⚽🌎 The world came to The Village of Tanglewood!

With Houston preparing to welcome the FIFA World Cup 2026, our residents got into the spirit with a lively soccer-themed watch party filled with fun, friendly competition, and great company.

The afternoon featured soccer ball challenges, delicious hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Tony, and plenty of excitement as everyone cheered on the action together. The highlight? A friendly mini soccer match between Chef Tony and our Director of Life Enrichment, Dennis. Let's just say... Chef Tony took home the trophy this time! ⚽🏆😉

Events like these are just one more way we celebrate community, create memorable experiences, and enjoy life's special moments together at The Village of Tanglewood.

What’s cooking at The Village of Tanglewood? Something delicious! 👨‍🍳✨

Chef Tony's monthly cooking demonstrations are always a resident favorite, combining culinary creativity with great conversation and, of course, incredible flavors. This week, he prepared delicate crêpes filled with creamy mascarpone and topped with fresh berries, accompanied by a refreshing Bellini—the perfect pairing for a delightful afternoon with friends.

It's just one more way residents enjoy engaging experiences, exceptional dining and the opportunity to savor life's simple pleasures together.

Houston’s history came to life at The Village of Tanglewood as residents and guests were captivated by a fascinating presentation from author William Dylan Powell.

From beloved restaurants and iconic retail stores to grand hotels, amusement parks and long-forgotten landmarks, William shared the stories behind many of Houston’s lost treasures and the memories they continue to inspire. His engaging look back at the people, places and experiences that shaped our city sparked lively conversation, laughter and plenty of nostalgia among attendees.

The experience didn’t end when the presentation concluded. Guests had the opportunity to continue the journey by purchasing autographed copies of William’s book, *Lost Treasures of Houston*, taking home a collection of stories that celebrate the people and places that helped define our city.

Thank you to William Dylan Powell for sharing Houston’s rich history and reminding us that while some landmarks may be gone, the memories they created live on.
