🚨 Houston women: there’s been a major change in how the FDA labels menopausal hormone therapy.
In February 2026, the FDA approved changes removing cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and probable dementia risk statements from the boxed warning for certain menopausal hormone therapy products. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)
But here’s what’s important: this does NOT mean hormone therapy is risk-free or right for every woman. The FDA still recommends that risks and benefits be considered individually, and important safety information remains in the prescribing information. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)
The conversation around menopause care is changing—and personalized treatment matters.
If you’ve avoided hormone therapy because of concerns based on older information, now may be a good time to have an updated conversation with a qualified healthcare provider.
