For the past 24 years, Stand By Me has been more than just a gala. It has been a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses compassion, generosity, and hope. Every year, this event helps us continue doing what we love most: changing lives and supporting those who need it most.

A powerful testimony from one of our moms below ⬇️

✨My name is Christina Bond, and I am a parent volunteer with Special C.H.E.E.R.S. (Children with Horses for Evaluation, Education, Rehabilitation, and Socialization), a nonprofit organization serving Houston-area children and young adults with special needs through hippotherapy and occupational therapy. Special C.H.E.E.R.S. has been part of our family’s life for the past five years.

🤍My son, Davy, participates in the program, and we have personally witnessed the incredible impact equine therapy can have.

✨Five years ago, Davy was unable to walk independently or sit upright on a horse without support. Today, he proudly walks to the tack room on his own, gathers his equipment, mounts independently, and communicates confidently using sign language.

🤍Hippotherapy has truly transformed his life in ways we never imagined possible.

💚We are so excited every time children arrive and we get to witness what happens in this space. There is something powerful about seeing transformation unfold—watching confidence grow, fear fade, and joy return in such a natural, beautiful way through connection and care. Every child is met with patience, love, and encouragement, and every session tells its own story.

🪴While we specialize in working with children, especially special-needs children, we also welcome individuals of all ages, including adults. Each person who comes through our doors is treated with the same level of compassion, respect, and individualized attention.

If you know you know… we LOVE and CARE for our four legged partners. Stop, look, listen, assess, ….. dog medicine or Underwoods with baking soda?

When I’m injured…
“Ah. It’s fine.”
“Probably just slept funny.”
“Give it a minute.”
“I’ll walk it off.”
continues life with a limp and questionable life choices

I once drove home from Yorkshire after shutting the lorry ramp on my knee....don't ask me how.....
I styled it out saying bye to everyone getting paler and paler..
Called his owner to say....get the ice and some pain killers and ill see you in 7 hrs...🫠🫠

When my horse is injured…

🚨 CANCEL EVERYTHING 🚨
Ring the vet.
Ring the farrier.
Ring anyone who has ever met a horse.
Check Google.
Re-check Google.
Spiral.
Stare at them intensely.
Analyse every step like it’s an Olympic sport.
Question every decision I’ve ever made.

“She looked at me differently.”
“That step was… off.”
“Do you think she’s thinking sore thoughts?”

Meanwhile the horse is stood there like:

“What?”

Horse people:
Walking around with untreated injuries.
Running fully equipped emergency response units for their animals.
