WifeLife Ministries brought some extra joy to Santa Maria with an Ice Cream Social and Baby Shower for the women in our WHO and BAMBI programs.

They didn't just celebrate, they showed up with an incredible bounty of support. Donating mounds of diapers and hundreds of baby items for the mothers and babies in care.

Recovery is hard work but, there’s always room for a little fun along the way! 💜

To celebrate National Recovery Month, our participants and their children came together for a Recovery Field Day filled with games, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of encouragement.

Each activity brought a recovery theme to life, reminding us that recovery is about more than the destination. It’s about connection, resilience, and celebrating the journey along the way.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Yolanda Ross, DSW, LCSW-S, LCDC, MHA, CHW, who dedicated nearly seven years to Santa Maria and the women and families we serve.

Dr. Ross joined Santa Maria in 2019 as a Parent Coach and later continued supporting our clinical team as a supervisor. Her compassion, expertise and commitment made a lasting impact on our organization and the people she served. She will be deeply missed.

Join us as we remember Dr. Ross and honor her legacy through a Celebration of Life and the creation of a Memory Ribbon Tree. Open to Santa Maria staff, participants, alumni and former staff.

Our Santa Maria team recently visited Lone Star College in Montgomery to give students an inside look at our organization, the services we provide, and the work we do to support women and families in recovery.

With Lone Star College offering a program for students pursuing their LCDC, these conversations are an important opportunity to introduce future professionals to the many ways they can make a difference.

Investing in our staff means investing in the women and families we serve. 💜

Some of our Santa Maria team recently attended the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (Austin TAAP) Symposium, connecting with fellow professionals and learning from experts in addiction treatment, trauma, recovery, and integrated care.

We’re especially proud of our CEO, Vaughan Gilmore, LCSW-S, LCDC, and our Outreach and Care Coordinator for the Caring For Two Program, Michelle Hansford, PSS, RSPS, CHW, who presented on the panel, “Integrated SUD Treatment for Women and Families Using Gender-Specific Approaches.” Vaughan and Michelle shared insights from Santa Maria’s experience providing comprehensive, family-centered care for women and their children.

We’re proud to have our team represented at the forefront of conversations shaping the future of addiction treatment.
