Dorothy Ann Stage, age 64, passed away peacefully at her home on August 2, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, Army veteran, and dedicated member of her community.
Dorothy was born on February 10 and was a graduate of Cumberland High School. She proudly served her country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Stage. Their meeting began a beautiful love story that would span decades. Dorothy and Bob fell in love and were married on December 3, 1983, beginning a life and family together.
Dorothy was a woman of strength, courage, and service. Following her military service, she continued serving others as a volunteer firefighter, giving her time and heart to her community. She was always willing to help those in need and had a deep love for the people and animals in her life.
Her life was a story of service, love, family, and devotion—and that story will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Stage; her sons, Russell Stage, Rodney Stage, Kenneth Stage, and Jonathan Stage; grandchildren Colby Stage, Ariana Mullins, Faith Haddox, Mackenzie Stage, Hunter Randall, Ashton McClendon, Kenzi McClendon, Aiden McClendon, Klaire McClendon, Tyler Finn Stage, and David Oliver Stage; and great-grandchildren Emerson Mullins, Everett Mullins, Eleanor Mullins, and Raylynn Bates.
She is also survived by her special friend, Peggie Stuckey.
Dorothy was preceded in death by Harold Womack and Catherine Womack.
Dorothy had a special love for German Shepherds, who were not simply pets to her but beloved companions and members of her family.
Those who knew Dorothy will remember her strength, her loyalty, her courage, her love for her family, and the many ways she served others throughout her life. Her legacy will live on through the family she built, the people she helped, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
Though her passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, Dorothy’s loved ones can take comfort in knowing that her life made a difference. She was deeply loved, she was important to many, and she will never be forgotten.
Service details will be announced at a later date.
