Houston, MS-Idell Rebecca Duncan died peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by family, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Idell was born on December 17, 1935, to the late Hendrix Dunn and Taver Dunn. She grew up in a loving home among 17 brothers and sisters.

She married the late Odis Tapley and moved to Houston in 1951. They built a house and made it home, raising their two children, Lee Odis Tapley and Rebecca Jo (Becky) Tapley Webber. She lost Otis to cancer in 1984 but remained in Houston in the home that she loved so much. Idell worked at and retired from Gulf States Ceramic Tile Company. After retirement, she took on the roll as a babysitter, which she took great pride in. Over the years she kept quite a few children, that she loved like her own. Most of them still call her “Nanny.” After Odis’s passing, in 1985, Idell married the late Phillip Duncan. They both shared their love of the Lord and attended Arbor Grove Baptist Church. Phillip immediately became “Paw Phillip” and was wrangled in as babysitter as well. Sadly, she lost Phillip to cancer in 2018. She loved playing card games with her children and grandchildren. She always blessed the family with her amazing banana puddings and yummy biscuits. She especially loved spending time in her back yard, checking on her flowers and being in the sunshine!

Idell is survived by her son, Lee Tapley of Verona; her daughter, Becky Webber of Houston; her brother, Henry “Bud” Dunn (Bobby) of Water Valley; her granddaughter, DeAnna Griggs of Saltillo; her granddaughter, Shelly Gill (Corey) of Anchor; her grandson, Brian Griggs (Christy) of Houston; six great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Thomas Nelms of Byhalia, MS.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sixteen of her siblings, and her first and second husband.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Arbor Grove Baptist Church in Houston, MS with Rev. Dempsey Rowland officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 at the church, and the service will be at 2:00. Burial will be in the Arbor Grove cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Brian Griggs, Cade Griggs, Collin Griggs, Larry Dunn, Billy Joe Harmon and Curry Chapman.

Houston-Our precious mother, Elizabeth Roberts Cruse, gained her angel wings and went to be with the Lord, May 30, 2026. She was 86, born January 9, 1940, to the late James Alford Roberts and Lou Ella Roberts. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally. She married the love of her life, Murphree Lee Cruse, Jr. on December 18, 1959. They were married 58 years before his death on November 27, 2018. She worked many years as a seamstress at Futorian. Also, she was a beautician and kept kids at her home. All of her kids and grands called her Mammaw Bubbas. She could make the best caramel, coconut and orange cakes that you ever would eat. She could make the best biscuits, mac and cheese and fried deer meat of anybody around.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Dean Allen and Bro. Jordan Earrey officiating. Burial will follow at Boone's Chapel Cemetery near Okolona. Memorial Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her three children, Virginia Earrey Prewitt (Richard) of Houston, Joey Cruse (Mackenzie) of Belmont and Kenny Cruse (Lana) of Houston; two sisters, Louise Belcher (Berlon) and Lois Westmoreland (Jimmy); one brother, Edward Roberts; 6 grandkids, Josh Earrey (Nikki), Jessica Hamilton (Joe), Jolee Cruse, Annalise Cruse, Jay Landon Cruse and Dollina Cruse; 11 great grandkids, Kennedy Earrey (Elisia), Blakeley Earrey (Tae), Preslie Earrey, Jaylon Earrey (Reagan), Jordan Earrey ( Emma), Silas Earrey, Kolby Earrey, Nealee Hamilton, Cameron Razor ( Autumn), Jocelynn Burton (Dru) and Ethan Razor; four great great grandkids, Jr. and Eastyn Barr, Ranger Earrey and Caurrie Stokes; a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Murphree Cruse, Jr., her parents; two sisters, Martha Prestage and Mary Reed; a grandson, Neal Earrey.

Pallbearers will be Jaylon Earrey, Jordan Earrey, Kolby Earrey, Silas Earrey, Josh Earrey and Jay Landon Cruse.

Visitation will be 5 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy.
