When you’ve been sitting for a while, it can often take a little more effort for your hips, trunk, and shoulders to start working together again. That’s why simply stretching the area that feels tight may not tell the whole story.

The Integration Reset works through that process:

Glute Bridge → establish control through the hips and pelvis
Dead Bug → maintain that control while the limbs move
Wall Slide → carry it into upper-body movement

It’s a simple way to practice getting the body moving together again after spending so much of the day sitting.

If sitting regularly leaves you stiff or uncomfortable, schedule a movement assessment and let’s find out where your movement may be getting limited or compensated.

Sometimes the painful or tight area is only part of the picture. Your hips, trunk, and shoulders all have to work together as you move.

That’s the idea behind the Integration Reset:

Glute Bridge → establish the foundation
Dead Bug → maintain control while you move
Wall Slide → carry that control into the upper body

The goal isn’t just to work individual muscles. It’s to practice getting different parts of the body working together.

If the same stiffness, tension, or discomfort keeps returning, schedule a movement assessment and let’s look at the bigger picture—not just the spot that hurts.

It’s easy to focus only on the area that feels tight, but your upper body doesn’t work in isolation. How well your trunk supports and coordinates with your shoulders can influence how those movements feel.

That’s why the Integration Reset progresses from the Glute Bridge → Dead Bug → Wall Slide. We start by establishing control through the hips, pelvis, and trunk, then maintain that control as the limbs move, and finally bring it into upper-body movement.

If neck and shoulder tightness keeps coming back, schedule a movement assessment and let’s look beyond the tight spot to see how your body is working together.

Sometimes the issue isn’t just movement itself—it’s how well your trunk stays controlled while your arms and legs begin to move.

That’s why the Integration Reset progresses from the Glute Bridge to the Dead Bug. First, you establish better control through the hips, pelvis, and trunk. Then you challenge that control while the limbs move.

If your discomfort tends to show up once you start moving, schedule a movement assessment and let’s look at how your body is coordinating that movement.

Do you feel stiff when you stand up after sitting for a while?

Sometimes that “stuck” feeling isn’t just about needing more flexibility. Your trunk and pelvis may need better positioning and control before you ask them to move.

That’s why the Integration Reset starts with the Glute Bridge. Before lifting, gently flatten your low back and establish control through the trunk and pelvis—then add the movement.

If standing up keeps feeling stiff or uncomfortable, schedule a movement assessment and let’s look at how your hips, pelvis, and low back are working together.

Does your low back keep tightening up—even when you stretch it, rest it, or try to loosen it?

Sometimes the problem isn’t only the area that feels tight. If your hips and core aren’t sharing the work well, your low back may end up doing more than its share.

That’s why the Integration Reset starts with the Glute Bridge: to begin improving control through the hips, pelvis, and trunk before progressing to more complex movement.

If that recurring tightness keeps showing up, don’t just keep treating the same spot. Schedule a movement assessment and let’s look at how your hips, trunk, and low back are working together.

Mobility is important, but eventually your body has to learn how to use that movement together.

That’s the purpose of my Integration Reset:

Glute Bridge → hip and trunk control
Dead Bug → coordination across the trunk
Wall Slide → shoulder movement with control

Start with the simpler version first. With the Dead Bug, control one limb before progressing to opposite limbs. With the Wall Slide, practice both arms together and each arm individually.

You’re not trying to make the movement as difficult as possible.

You’re teaching different parts of the body to work together well.

The body performs what it practices.

That’s the idea behind the Foundation Reset. Cat/Cow, Torso Twist, and Bird Dog give your body a simple way to practice spinal motion, rotation, and control in one short sequence.

The goal isn’t just to move more. It’s to practice moving better—and to repeat that practice consistently.

Better movement starts with what you practice regularly.

Bird Dog is where the Foundation Reset shifts from simply creating motion to learning how to control it.

After Cat/Cow and Torso Twist help the spine move through different directions, Bird Dog asks your body to stay steady while the arms and legs move around it.

Start simple, move with control, and progress from there.

Motion matters. Control makes it useful.
