Certified Medical Assistant / Psychiatric Practice Assistant
📍 Houston, TX | In-Person Position
Are you a compassionate, organized Medical Assistant looking to make a real difference in patients' lives?
LifeWoRx Psychiatry is a growing outpatient mental health practice seeking a professional, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent Medical Assistant to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities in a collaborative and supportive environment.
What You'll Do
As an integral member of our clinical team, you'll help ensure every patient receives exceptional care from the moment they arrive.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Welcome and room patients
• Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, oxygen saturation, etc.)
• Update medical histories, medications, allergies, and patient information
• Prepare patients for provider visits
• Document clinical information accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Assist providers during patient visits as needed
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Administrative Responsibilities
• Answer phones and schedule appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Assist with patient registration and intake
• Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Respond to patient messages
• Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations
• Support providers with administrative tasks
• Help maintain efficient office operations
Required Qualifications
✔ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred
✔ Current Medical Assistant certification in good standing (preferred)
✔ Experience obtaining and documenting patient vital signs
✔ Experience working in a medical office
✔ Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
✔ Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Excellent attention to detail
✔ Professional and compassionate bedside manner
✔ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is highly preferred:
• Psychiatry
• Behavioral Health
• Psychology
• Family Medicine
• Internal Medicine
• Primary Care
Experience with:
• Insurance Verification
• Prior Authorizations
• Medical Scheduling
• Patient Intake
• Electronic Health Records (EHR)

📍 Location: Houston, TX (In-Person)
🕒 Part-Time Position with the opportunity to grow into a Full-Time role as the practice expands.
