Meet Justin Saunders, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.H.R.S.

Dr. Justin Saunders earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of his academic excellence. He completed his internship, residency, and served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Saunders then pursued advanced specialty training through multiple competitive fellowships. He completed a fellowship in Atherosclerosis and Lipidology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by a Cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he served as Chief Fellow in Cardiology. He went on to complete an additional fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Michigan Medicine, during which he was honored with the Golden Pacemaker Award for Outstanding Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology.

He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Outside of medicine, Dr. Saunders enjoys running and cycling, and most of all, spending time with his wife and children.
