We're proud to see Kaplan Sinus Relief’s very own Tiffany Bell, DMS, PA-C, and Jessica Rangel, PA-C, featured on discussing a topic many people don't realize is possible: developing seasonal allergies as an adult.

If you're suddenly dealing with congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes, or drainage, don't assume it's "just a cold" or something you have to live with. Allergy testing can help identify your triggers and get you on the right treatment plan.

Developing allergies later in life, or watching childhood allergies disappear entirely, is more common than most people expect. It tends to catch people off guard because allergies are often thought of as something you either have or you don't. The reality is that your immune system continues to shift throughout your life, and what your body tolerates at 30 looks different at 50 and different again at 70.

For Houston residents specifically, relocation is one of the biggest triggers. Moving from a different climate into Houston's year-round allergy season exposes the immune system to a completely new set of allergens it has never encountered before, and the reaction can show up quickly or build over years.

If your allergy symptoms are new, worsening, or just different than they used to be, that's reason enough to get evaluated.

"He truly cared about us and pursued every avenue to fix my sinuses and overall health issues."

Ally came to us looking for real answers after years of sinus struggles. What she found wasn't just an effective treatment plan. It was a doctor who followed up, stayed reachable, and never stopped looking for solutions until she felt better. She told us she's never breathed better, and that's exactly the kind of outcome we work toward with every patient.

Thorough care doesn't end when you leave the office. It means being available, being attentive, and treating the whole patient, not just the immediate complaint. This is what comprehensive ENT care looks like.

If you're ready to stop managing symptoms and start finding real relief, we're here. Call (713) 766-1818 to schedule your consultation.

Waking up exhausted every morning and wondering if that's just how life is going to feel. That's something a lot of our patients describe before they come to see us, and it's one of the most frustrating parts of living with chronic sinus issues.

What many people don't realize is that poor sleep tied to chronic congestion and sinus obstruction is a treatable problem, not just an inconvenience to push through. Balloon sinuplasty addresses the structural blockage that keeps your sinuses from draining properly, and for most patients, the results are lasting. The procedure takes about 20 minutes, is performed right here in the office, and carries a success rate above 90%.

Adam got his life back. If any part of his story sounds familiar, it might be time to find out whether you can, too.

Most people know that ENTs handle sinus infections and ear problems. However, ENTs also treat throat conditions like persistent sore throat, chronic throat clearing, or can even evaluate when someone’s voice doesn’t sound quite right.

Tonsillitis, hoarseness, swallowing difficulties, and post-nasal drip are among the most common reasons patients come to us. What's particularly worth knowing is that silent reflux, also called LPR, is one of the most frequently missed causes of chronic throat symptoms. Stomach acid can travel all the way to the voice box without producing any chest burning, leaving patients with a lingering cough, throat irritation, or a lump-in-throat sensation that they've been told is just stress or allergies.

The throat, sinuses, and nasal passages are part of one connected system. A lot of what shows up as a throat symptom originates further up, and treating it in isolation rarely produces lasting relief.

If you've been managing a recurring throat issue on your own, it may be time to find out what's actually behind it. Call us at (713) 766-1818 to schedule your consultation.

A Friday appointment request and scheduled by Monday morning. And a procedure that took less time than the drive to the office.

One of the most common things we hear from patients is that they put off getting evaluated because they assumed the process would be long, complicated, or disruptive to their routine. Ken's experience is a good reminder that it doesn't have to be. Getting seen is often the hardest step, and once patients take it, they frequently tell us they can't believe how manageable it all was.

If you've been putting this off, there's no better time to take that first step. Call us at (713) 766-1818.

It’s a pretty common experience to have your ears ache during flights, especially during takeoff and landing. That building pressure, the inability to pop your ears no matter what you try, and the muffled hearing that sometimes lingers long after the flight lands.

What's actually happening is a pressure imbalance in the middle ear. Your Eustachian tubes work to equalize that pressure, but when cabin pressure shifts faster than they can react, your ears pay for it. For most people, it resolves on its own. For others, it doesn't, and that's worth paying attention to.

People who suffer most from airplane ear usually have an underlying issue that makes their Eustachian tubes less effective to begin with. Chronic sinus inflammation, a deviated septum, or untreated allergies can all impair how well those tubes function, making every flight more painful than it should be.

Chewing gum, swallowing frequently during descent, and the Valsalva maneuver can help in the moment. But if ear pain on flights has become something you dread, or if the pressure doesn't resolve once you land, that pattern is telling you something. An ENT evaluation can identify what's behind it and help you get back in the air comfortably.

"She did a great job explaining everything to me. I am glad I chose this place."

This patient came in thinking they had an allergy problem. What they left with was a complete picture of what was actually going on, a plan to address it, and the confidence that they were finally in the right hands.

That's something we hear often, and it reflects something important about the way our team approaches care. A thorough evaluation doesn't just treat the symptom you came in for. It looks at the full picture so that nothing gets missed. PA-C Jessica Rangel and the rest of our team take the time to explain clearly, listen carefully, and make sure every patient understands their options before leaving the office.

If you've been managing symptoms without a clear answer, a visit to Kaplan Sinus Relief might give you more clarity than you expected. Call (713) 766-1818 to schedule.

That muffled, plugged-up sensation in your ear can be hard to ignore. It’s likely your body is telling you something isn't draining the way it should.

Eustachian tube dysfunction, sinus congestion, allergies, and even acid reflux can all create that familiar feeling of fullness or pressure. Getting to the right solution means understanding what's actually causing it.

For mild or temporary blockage, home remedies like yawning, gentle jaw movement, steam inhalation, or over-the-counter ear drops can offer relief. What's particularly important is knowing what not to do: cotton swabs, ear candles, and forceful blowing can push the problem deeper or cause permanent damage to the ear canal.

When the blockage doesn't clear, comes with pain or dizziness, or keeps coming back with every cold or allergy flare-up, that's not something to wait out. Chronic ear symptoms are often a downstream effect of what's happening in the sinuses, and treating that root cause is what ensures lasting relief.
