The Spring 2026 issue of the PNMHS Newsletter "Our Heritage" has been released. It can be accessed below.

This issue draws heavily on historical material found in our archival holdings. In it you will find:
1. A summary of our February 21 annual meeting featuring a history told by former Pastor Jeryl Hollinger of the Mountain View Mennonite Church in Creston, MT.
2. A continuation from our fall newsletter of the interesting communications between the PCC Mission Board and Allan Good, Pastor of Portland Menonite Gospel Mission from 1922 to 1932.
3. A story from a 1994 edition of the Societies newsletter about Zion Mennonite burial practices in 1911.
4. A collection of letters to the Words of Cheer publication from Oregon writers seeking pen pals.
5. A letter to the Weekly Budget in 1895 by an Oregon writer who shared about her three-day trip to get to the Oregon coast.

Please plan to attend the annual meeting and program of the Pacific NW Mennonite Historical Society on February 21, 2026, at Zion Mennonite Church. In addition to a meal and business meeting beginning at noon, we will have a program beginning at 1:30 featuring Jeryl Hollinger. Jeryl is the retired pastor of Mountain View Mennonite church in Kalispell, Montana, and will speak on the church's history and Mennonite presence in Montana. The cost of the lunch is $15 per person. Anabaptism @ 501 Symposium, Nov. 7-9

On the weekend of Friday, Nov. 7 to Sunday, Nov. 9, PMC will be hosting special guests from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (Elkhart, IN) for a conference-like event called “Anabaptism @ 501: Practicing Faith – Weaving the Work of Justice.” Nekeisha Alayna Alexis is the Intercultural Competence and Undoing Racism Coordinator (ICUR Coordinator) and Jamie Pitts is Professor of Anabaptist History, Theology, and Ethics at AMBS. Jamie and Nekeisha will help us examine critically how the stories we tell ourselves shape the present and the ongoing life of Anabaptism, with an eye to how we remain open to those who are different from us and to the work of the Holy Spirit.
