Last night we held a town hall meeting for Q and A on the Essential Services Referendum that’s on the ballot for November 3rd.
We would like to thank all who came out for this to be informed! Also thank you to the HC Supervisor Candidates and Iowa Falls EMS Director Corey Larson that came out to give FACTS on this topic.
Facts:
60% of the YES/NO votes is what it takes to pass, if you don’t vote yes/no and leave it blank that will NOT be counted.
$1.2 million, how did this become the number?
Amongst all agencies in Hardin County such as first responder, BLS, and ALS we are sitting at a $1.16 million deficit.
What improvements are needed that this levy will support?
This will support purchasing equipment, fuel, payroll, training, supplies, and to sustain what we have.
What happens if this Levy passes and the services don’t improve what would be the explanation to the residents?
Hopefully this will help but if not we will have to fundraise.
Our Mayor Lance Below is in favor for the Essential EMS for Hardin County.
Please if you have any questions reach out to our EMS members and our City Officials.
Below is the actual referendum Word for Word as it is written.
Then there are some photos of information sheets that were passed out.
