“Witness” began at Greene Correctional Facility, where Sondra Loring brought yoga, writing, and dance improvisation to incarcerated men.

Through breath, movement, and shared reflection, something powerful emerged: a collective language shaped by resilience, imagination, and dignity.

The night includes the screening of “Witness”, a live panel, a performance excerpt, food and drinks and time to meet the artists.

With cinematography by Devin Pickering and Angela Beallor, the film follows the poetic, transformative process at the heart of Sondra Loring’s work teaching yoga and dance to incarcerated men at Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie, New York.

Co-created with incarcerated participants and outside artists, the project brings movement, expression, and collaboration into a space defined by confinement, building a rare and vital bridge between those inside and those beyond the walls.

All proceeds support MovingPotential’s work, bringing trauma-informed yoga, movement, and mindfulness to people impacted by justice and addiction.

The 13-minute documentary by cinematographers Angela Beallor (Angela Beallor) and Devin Pickering (Devin Pickering) follows Sondra Loring’s journey from prison volunteer to founder of MovingPotential as well as Eric Cherry’s path from the classroom to the stage.

“Witness” is a fascinating look at the yoga and dance classes Sondra led for men at Greene Correctional Facility, and the creative connection built between incarcerated participants and outside artists.

The evening includes a screening, a live panel, and a performance excerpt. Then stick around for food, drinks, and a chance to meet the artists and connect with fellow MovingPotential supporters.
