Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Providing Hudson with seamless, full-service funeral and cremation services since 1970. These sections are still available for flat memorials.

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home was founded in 1970 by Melvin Scherer, a retired Air Force colonel who invested in real estate in the early 1960s. As a community resident who attended many services at Hudson Cemetery, he recognized the need for a new cemetery for the community. At Grace Memorial, the main goal was to have a respectful, peaceful place to honor loved ones – one that would al

ways be maintained. This was best accomplished in the 1970s by creating sections that were specific to a faith or organization. In the 1980s, mausoleum entombment became a prominent request. Today, the cemetery features five mausoleum complexes.

Happy Father’s Day to all these men who have guided us, supported us, and filled our lives with love.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who are with us, the father figures who have made a difference, the dads who have survived the loss of a child, and those we will forever carry in our hearts and memories. May this day be filled with gratitude, reflection, and love.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth and honor the strength, resilience, and freedom it represents. May this day remind us of the importance of unity, reflection, and the continued journey toward equality for all.

Grief can come with quiet moments, hard days, and even moments of joy. Smiling, laughing, or having a good day does not mean you are forgetting your loved one. It means you are continuing to carry their memory with you as you heal.

Summer looks different for everyone. ☀️

For some, it’s early mornings and quiet coffee.
For others, it’s busy days, travel plans, or time with family.

No matter what this season looks like for you, we hope it holds at least one small moment that feels steady and bright.

Perpetual care helps ensure a cemetery remains a peaceful, well-maintained place for families to visit and remember their loved ones. This care supports the upkeep of the grounds, roads, and buildings so the space can continue to be treated with respect for years to come.

When families reflect on what helped most, it’s rarely one big moment.

It’s clarity.
It’s simple guidance.
It’s steady support when decisions feel overwhelming.

Whether planning ahead or facing an immediate need, families tell us they value knowing they don’t have to navigate it alone.

At Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, we’re here 24/7 to guide each step with dignity and care.

Grace Memorial Gardens was pleased to host Yoga at the Park in partnership with Madison Pointe Care Center, bringing the community together for a relaxing and uplifting experience.
A special thank-you to Janice Hiatt, Family Service Advisor at Grace Memorial Gardens, for organizing the event, and to Debi Haden of DLH Wellness for leading the yoga session. We also appreciate Madison Pointe Care Center for providing complimentary succulents, Flowers by Jordan for the beautiful floral arrangements, Blissful Bites Tampa Bay Area for the delicious cookies and sweets, and Hernando Beach Java & Kava for the refreshing smoothies.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful community event possible and to all who joined us for a wonderful day at the park!

“If today feels heavy, start with one slow breath.”

Some days require less productivity and more gentleness.

If today feels heavy, start with one slow breath.
That’s enough for now.

Save this as a reminder for later, especially on the days when everything feels like too much.

If you ever need steady guidance beyond the quiet moments, our team at Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is here with compassionate support.
