POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) = your autonomic nervous system malfunctioning 🤍

You stand up, heart races, dizziness hits, you might pass out. Your heart rate jumps 30+ beats just from standing.
This isn't anxiety, it's autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

What you're living with: Dizziness when upright, rapid heartbeat, fatigue, brain fog, exercise intolerance, nausea, temperature dysregulation, feeling like your body is constantly betraying you.

Did you know that your autonomic nervous system is controlled by your brainstem and upper cervical spine?

When upper neck has tension or imbalance, it affects brainstem function, vagus nerve communication, blood flow to brain, and autonomic regulation.

How upper cervical chiropractic helps POTS:
Upper cervical adjustments support brainstem function and vagus nerve. Improved blood flow to brain reduces dizziness/brain fog, nervous system regulation improves over time, and reduced spinal stress.

When we support that foundation, some patients find their body can regulate better.
You deserve support that addresses the nervous system foundation, not just symptom management 🤍

If you're living on Excedrin and avoiding bright lights, there is hope in managing your headaches naturally. Chronic headaches and migraines are often nervous system issues, and we see it resolve everyday in our office. 🧠❤️

You've tried everything:
-Pain med
-Botox injections every 3 months
-Avoiding triggers (impossible to avoid life, stress, hormones, weather)
-"Just dealing with it"

But headaches keep coming back. Migraines still knock you out for days. You're missing work, canceling plans, living in fear of the next one.

Here's what's actually causing your headaches:
Upper cervical imbalance: Your top two vertebrae sit at the base of your skull, affecting brainstem, blood flow to brain, and trigeminal nerve (major migraine trigger). When out of balance, migraine frequency increases.

Forward head posture: Every inch your head sits forward = 10 extra pounds of pressure on your neck. Chronic neck compression from screens, desk work.

Muscle tension: Tight neck/shoulder muscles create trigger points that refer pain to your head (feels like headache, source is your neck).

Nervous system dysregulation: Chronic stress keeps you in sympathetic mode, making you more prone to headaches.

Hormonal fluctuations: When the spine is balanced and the nervous system is regulated, hormonal headaches are reduced.

Chiropractic addresses these causes:
-Upper cervical adjustments reduce brainstem pressure, improve blood flow, decrease migraine frequency/intensity
-Postural correction fixes forward head position
-Nervous system regulation shifts you out of chronic stress
-Muscle release work addresses trigger points
-Adjustments have anti-inflammatory effects

If you're living on pain meds, avoiding lights, missing life because of headaches - your nervous system needs support, not just symptom management.

There is hope. There is healing. You don't have to live like this.

Summer break is coming and the transition from structure to freedom can be hard on your family's nervous systems. Here's how to prep for a great summer. 🌞❤️

You'd think less structure = less stress. But for many families, summer creates MORE dysregulation:

Kids: Sudden routine loss, sleep chaos, more screens, boredom meltdowns, sibling conflicts
Parents: Kids home all day, disrupted work, planning stress, no break from parenting

Prep your family's nervous system for summer:
1. Get everyone adjusted before summer starts and through summer
Kids are carrying nine months of academic stress, sitting in chairs all day, and minimal outdoor play. Getting them adjusted will help to release accumulated stress and start their summer with a clean slate.

Parents are carrying stress from the hectic school schedule, an increased mental load, and sleep deprivation from changing schedules. Getting adjusted can help you shift into summer mode instead of staying stuck in survival.

2. Create summer rhythm (not rigid schedule)
Your nervous system needs predictable patterns:
✅ Consistent wake/sleep times (later is fine, just consistent)
✅ Meal rhythm
✅ Daily outdoor time
✅ Screen-free times
✅ Wind-down before bed

3. Prioritize movement & nature for a nervous system reset
After nine months of sitting and screens, summer is a chance to breathe through movement and nature.

Movement in nature helps to: Activate your parasympathetic nervous system, improve sleep, reduce cortisol, improve mood, and build resilience

Daily activities: Swimming, biking, running, hiking, beach days, unstructured outdoor play. Goal: 30+ minutes daily.

4. Maintain chiropractic care through summer
Summer is IDEAL for chiropractic:
✓ Active bodies need support (swimming, biking, climbing)
✓ Travel stress affects NS (car rides, flying, schedule disruption)
✓ Growth spurts happen in summer
✓ Preparing for next school year

Summer Nervous System Prep Checklist:
☑️ Get everyone adjusted before school ends
☑️ Create summer rhythm (not rigid schedule)
☑️ Daily movement and nature time
☑️ Screen boundaries
☑️ Maintain chiropractic care
☑️ Plan downtime (boredom is okay)
☑️ Stay hydrated
☑️ Keep bedtime rhythm

Summer should rejuvenate your family's nervous systems, not deplete them further.
Prep now. Regulate through summer. Start fall thriving.
