We would like to share a “Memorial Post” about one of our favorite volunteers, “Tootsie”. We loved having her visit us and share her BIG heart with all of us. “Tootsie’s”mom, Adrianne shares this with all of you:

Thank you. Life sadly is at a new beginning for me. I’ve cried river these past days as again just reading your kind words.

The memorial would be very sweet. She loved visiting and truly thought it was her mission. I could say CCH or Grandpa Fred and she was at the door. Through Tootsie we met people from Montana and the western states to New York and everywhere in between but especially in this area. She opened many doors for me. Tootsie taught us about grace, love and forgiveness and much more. I told her we loved her, would miss her and to go find Derby and Grandpa Fred.

Thank you for welcoming Tootsie into your world. 💕”

Thank you to the Hudson High School WI Marching Band for coming to our Hudson campus on Memorial Day to march around round our community TWICE! The residents and staff loved this very much! People are still talking about how this is such a special way to honor the fallen vets on this important day!

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
At CCH, we are especially grateful for the veterans and families in our community whose lives reflect courage, service, and resilience every day.
As we gather with loved ones this Memorial Day, may we carry their legacy forward—with gratitude, compassion, and purpose. ❤️

Long Term Care Week is a time to recognize the essential role skilled nursing facilities play in our communities and to honor the staff, volunteers, and residents who make them extraordinary.

This year’s 2026 theme, 🌸 “Moments in Bloom,” 🌺 celebrates the acts of compassion, connection, and teamwork that blossom into meaningful experiences every day.

At our Osceola Campus, the week blossomed with laughter, shared moments, friendly competition, and memories captured in photos and smiles.

To our remarkable staff: thank you. Your dedication nurtures the well‑being of every resident, and the impact of your work continues to bloom long after each day ends. 🌺🌸🌼

Today was the perfect day for a trip to Como Zoo in St. Paul! The weather couldn’t have been better, and the bus rides there and back were filled with great conversation, laughter, and plenty of excitement.
We were joined by approximately 5 GAZILLION children 😄—and honestly, they were just as fun to watch as the animals as we made our way around!
Lunch was a highlight too—those boxed lunches were on point! Huge thanks to our amazing dietary staff for the care and love that went into each one. We felt it! 💛
And of course, we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful volunteers—and aide Steve—who were absolutely fantastic. It truly does take a village, and we’re so grateful for ours.
As you’ll see in the photos, fun was definitely had! Joan S. had her sights set on sitting on the seal statue—and she got so close! Meanwhile, Deb took things a step further and managed to sneak in a kiss with that famous seal 🦭💋
All in all, it was a memorable, joy-filled day that we’ll be smiling about for a long time!

What a blast! We had eight mixed teams of residents and staff competing in a fast‑paced, laughter‑filled game of Tenzi. Even those who had never played before caught on quickly, and the competitive spirit made it even more fun. It was wonderful to see everyone—staff and residents alike—sharing joy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. Moments like these remind us how much fun we can have when we all come together!

Sustainable Safari stopped by last week for Long Term Care, and the animals did not disappoint. Residents got to meet a leopard gecko, a baby goat, a snake, and — the star of the day — a baby kangaroo.

Reactions were priceless.
The baby goat had everyone laughing and reaching out for pets.
The leopard gecko earned a polite, curious “oh, neat.”
The snake… well, let’s just say enthusiasm dipped a bit.
And then came the baby kangaroo — pure, unfiltered excitement.

Our presenter even let her hop around the room, which absolutely delighted the residents. The best part was how many people got the chance to hold and snuggle her. It’s not every day you get to cuddle a kangaroo, and the joy in the room was unmistakable.
