⭐️Accessible/Adaptive Yoga teacher Lauren started practicing yoga in 2006 while searching for a new hobby to occupy her time. She soon began to notice the benefits of giving herself the self-care her body, mind, and heart needed. In 2015, Lauren took a Child Yoga Teacher Training a

nd her perspective got turned upside down. If only she knew about yoga as a child and the benefits it would have brought to her confidence, identity, self-regulation, and mental health. Lauren quickly knew she wanted to share this practice with others and began her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2016. Since learning that yoga is more than shapes with your body, Lauren’s focus became learning how to create a safe and supportive environment for her students while making the postures and breath accessible to everyone that walks into her class. Lauren loves sharing yoga with those who “can’t do yoga” and those that want calm and confidence in their life. Lauren is an RYT 200 and RCYT 95 with Yoga Alliance and has completed 30 hours of Accessible Yoga Training. Lauren has two young children and enjoys their chaos, stained glass art, audiobooks, podcasts, all things community, and houseplants!

Not every moment needs to be fixed.

Yoga teaches us to sit with what’s here—
without rushing past it,
without needing it to change.

For mental health, this kind of presence can be a powerful form of care.

Last night I completed my class for my Lead Teacher certification in Early Childhood Education called, Children with Special Needs and their Families.

We had to create an activity to give to families to use at home for a child with an exceptionality. I chose Cerebral Palsy as the exceptionality that I would research, share resources, and activities.

This was one of my activities! Dice Yoga Game! I specifically changed the game to be more inclusive by having the child make a shape with their body that is similar to the posture on the card. Yoga is so accessible, anyone can practice!

My 6 year old found the card & dice yesterday while he was home sick & decided to play! He did it independently & had a blast!

I had so much fun with the 3-5 year olds in the beautiful new Head Start classroom inside Nashua Community College! The kiddos were so fun & did amazing following ALL the directions, even when we practiced breathing and keeping our bodies & minds still!

There is something magical about a group filled with preschoolers that are so quiet & focused!

Can’t wait to share yoga & mindfulness with a large group of 3-5 year olds! Thanks to the YMCA of Greater Nashua for sponsoring this yoga class & sending me to Headstart to share this wonderful practice.

👧🏻🧒🏼Let’s talk Family Yoga (ages 1-6 with their adult/s).

At the moment, I only offer this class at the Nashua YMCA and its members only. This class is full weekly (with a waitlist)- lots of interest & fun!

🧘🏽‍♀️🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Would people want this offered somewhere else where it would be open to the community, but have a fee? Thinking Pelham, NH and the class being offered in a 4 week series.

📆What day/time would you want to see this class offered? During the week? Weekends?

⭐️Just a note- the 3 & under crowd (depending on the child) usually absorb the information by watching. Some won’t participate, but you’ll see them practicing at home or slowly participating during the later weeks of the session.
