Those with incarcerated loved ones:

What types of workshops would you be interested in?

What type of workbooks would you like?

Tell me different locations to look at hosting workshops.

OTWH wants to help to equip both those incarcerated and their families with the tools they need to successfully reenter society. You can help us in our mission by providing feedback, giving suggestions, telling us what you need, spreading the word about us and what we are doing and DONATING. Every dollar helps when it comes to nonprofits. We are a 100% volunteer organization so all donations go directly back to our clients and our community.

Your support matters. On The Way Home is devoted to guiding individuals as they reenter society after incarceration. Each donation strengthens our initiatives in job training, housing assistance, and community integration, which are crucial for reducing recidivism.By completing this form, you contri...

We have 2 clients coming out next week and we are in search of blue jeans and shoes. One needs size 32x34 and size 14 shoes and the other needs 34x32 jeans. If anyone has these sizes and would be willing to donate to help them get a fresh start it would be greatly appreciated.

At yesterday's Family Reentry Workshop each participant received our Family Reentry Workbook and Planner, an Alabama Prison Arts + Education Project Resource Guide, a notebook, keychain Narcan, Narcan test strips, Parole and Reentry Pocket Guide, United for Human Rights booklet, a bag full of goodies from OTWH, as well as a number of items from 2 of our sponsor that were in attendance.

We also provided a lunch of sub sandwiches, wraps, pasta salad, chips, cookies and drinks as well as snacks throughout the day.

We hope to continue these workshops statewide and in order to do that we need your support, community partners, sponsors and financial donors. Please share so that we can reach more people and help lower recidivism rates in Alabama by supplying families with the resources needed for families to help their loved ones.

On May 30, 2026, On The Way Home Reentry hosted our Family Reentry Workshop, bringing together families, support persons, service providers, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen successful reentry through education, resources, and connection.

The results show why this work matters:

✅ 16 attendees, speakers, volunteers, and partners participated
✅ 12 pre-workshop surveys completed
✅ 10 post-workshop surveys completed
✅ 90% of post-survey respondents rated the workshop “Excellent”
✅ Participants reported increased confidence in:
• Understanding the reentry process
• Supporting a loved one coming home
• Finding housing, employment, and support resources
• Accessing healthcare and insurance
• Understanding overdose prevention and Narcan
• Knowing their rights during reentry

Participants told us the most valuable parts of the workshop were the resources, community connection, lived experience, speakers, and practical tools they could use right away.

One participant shared:

“The feeling of being in community with people who have shared interest.”

This workshop confirmed what we already know: families need support, information, and community as they walk alongside loved ones returning home.

Thank you to every participant, speaker, volunteer, and partner who helped make this event possible. Together, we are building stronger families, safer communities, and better reentry outcomes.

No One Comes Home Alone.
