Our YEN team has had a busy October!!
They worked hard to get student surveys, prepare a presentation, and present their findings about student needs to coalition members in Choctaw, McCurtain, & Pushmataha Counties.

We couldn’t be more proud of them!

They have formed bonds that we hope follow them for many years.
They’ve got a few more projects planned & we can’t wait to see what they accomplish!
Please follow along and watch these girls continue to grow❤️

DEADLY NEW DRUG: A synthetic opioid up to 10 times more potent than fentanyl has been linked to at least 55 deaths across multiple states, officials say.

Cychlorphine, which is theoretically 500 times more potent than morphine or he**in, has been detected in counterfeit pills and illicit drugs — and standard fentanyl test strips cannot detect it.

Health officials warn that reversing an overdose from the drug may require five or six doses of Narcan instead of the usual one or two.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is closely monitoring the emerging threats of novel synthetic opioids. Illicit drugs have always been dangerous. The emergence of potent synthetic opioids, like cychlorphine, is especially concerning. Drug trafficking organizations frequently modify chemical formulas of known scheduled substances to make their products more potent, more addictive, and more profitable.

In July 2026, DEA published a notice of intent to temporarily schedule cychlorphine as a Schedule I substance, which took effect on August 27, 2026. The temporary scheduling order lasts through August 27, 2028.

Cychlorphine cannot be detected by fentanyl test strips. Naloxone can reverse opioid-related overdoses but, given the potency of cychlorphine, multiple doses may be required. If you suspect someone is experiencing a drug overdose / poisoning, always call emergency services immediately.
