One of the best ways to get ahead of your college financial aid planning is to apply for Oklahoma's Promise! Students can start applying in 8th grade and have until December 31 of their senior year of high school. This scholarship pays for full tuition at a public Oklahoma university, and since you can start so early it's a great baseline to work from as you go through high school.
