We’re excited to welcome back Mary, a Master of Social Work (MSW) student, who is diving back into her practicum this fall!

You know her and we love her as our Administrative Assistant. She will maintain her role, taking over our front desk in the afternoons. Her mornings will be spent observing sessions, co-leading sessions, and have a small intentional caseload of her own!

As part of Mary's graduate practicum, she will be gaining valuable hands-on experience working with clients, developing clinical skills, and putting social work knowledge into practice. We’re proud to be part of her professional journey and look forward to supporting her throughout the semester.

We're Hiring: Part-Time Administrative Office Assistant

🕒 10–25 flexible weekday hours per week (AM availability 7:30 AM- 12:00 PM Monday through Thursday)

At The Heart of Play, we believe exceptional client care starts with an exceptional team. We're looking for an organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Administrative Office Assistant to help support our growing group mental health practice serving Humboldt and the surrounding communities.

If you enjoy helping others, love keeping things organized, calm, on track and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do:

✨ Be the welcoming first point of contact for clients
📅 Manage clinician schedules and appointments
📞 Respond to phone calls, emails, and client messages
🩺 Verify insurance benefits and assist with billing support
📋 Maintain accurate electronic health records
📨 Send intake paperwork and support new client onboarding
🤝 Assist the practice owner with administrative projects
🔒 Protect client confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
🧼 Help keep our space tidy, clean, and welcoming

We're Looking For Someone Who:

✔️ Is highly organized and dependable
✔️ Communicates professionally and compassionately
✔️ Is comfortable learning technology and EHR systems
✔️ Has administrative experience (healthcare or mental health experience is a plus!)
✔️ Values teamwork, integrity, and helping others succeed

Demi Johnson, M.A., MSW Candidate and Student Intern

Demi joins The Heart of Play as a student intern, supervised by Nolan and will be working with all of our fantastic clinicians to further grow in her skills and passion for helping others.

Demi will begin working with clients late this fall and will be welcoming clients of all ages who would like to work with a student intern. If you are interested in working with Demi, contact our office at 515-216-4227.
