Being a beginner as an adult is a special kind of humbling🫠

Today, my riding instructor Maggie announced we were learning a new skill: JUMPING.

Naturally, I handled this with grace and emotional maturity…

JK, I threw a legit fit 🫣😂

Maggie promised it would be painless, but I’d already envisioned Fury launching us over an Olympic-sized obstacle while an ambulance waited to cart me off with broken bones and a shattered ego.

And then we jumped.

And it was…fine. Embarrassingly fine😅😑

The irony of being a therapist who helps people challenge catastrophic thinking while simultaneously directing a medical drama in my own head is not lost on me.

But that’s the thing about being a beginner. It’s uncomfortable, humbling, and requires us to tolerate uncertainty rather than avoid it.

Sometimes the story we create about an experience is far scarier than the experience itself.

You don’t have to be good at something for it to be good for you.

And sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t the jump. It’s the one you’ve constructed in your head 🐎

Exactly one year ago, I spent my 35th birthday in Montana, surrounded by vast wilderness, breathing in the crispest air I’ve ever inhaled, and wondering if a bear was going to eat me while hiking through Glacier National Park🧸🏔️

365 days later, almost every aspect of my life has changed. Nothing went as planned. Some parts evolved beyond my wildest dreams while others broke my spirit.

Now, on my first day of being 36, I find myself navigating more uncertainty than ever. Feeling disconnected from myself more often than I’d like to admit, questioning the direction of my career, romance (does it even exist??), and occasionally (aka daily), what it even means to be human.

But one thing I know for certain is that faith, even when that trust in it is molecular at best (mustard seeds seem to big some days 🤷🏽‍♀️), are what allow me to keep going.

So, if there’s anything I want to share as I begin another trip around the sun, it’s this:

Trust your process. Trust your timing. Allow yourself to exist in the unknown without needing to make sense of everything. Let the magic meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.

And remember, despite all the uncertainty, heartbreak, beauty, and change, the simple act of existing is a miracle.

Here’s to 36, to becoming, unbecoming, and everything in between✨

And Montana, I hope our paths cross again someday 🤎

What if we stopped resisting change and started understanding it?

As the seasons shift, so do our bodies, emotions, energy, and natural rhythms. But how often do we give ourselves permission to slow down and notice what’s happening within us?

Join me for Week 1 of The Turning: Finding Your Rhythm, where we’ll explore how seasonal transitions impact our nervous systems and emotional wellbeing.

Through nature-informed meditation, grounding exercises, and guided reflection, we’ll practice meeting change with curiosity rather than resistance.

Come as you are. Leave with a deeper understanding of yourself and practical tools to navigate life’s transitions.

Sunday, October 25 | 10–11 AM
Heart’s Gate Wellness | Towson, MD
$40 per person

Registration is OPEN! Spaces are limited, so grab your ticket and join us for an intentional morning of connection, reflection, and grounding.

One thing for sure, two things for certain…burnout is real and we need to get outside more 😂🌿

Meanwhile Ginger is just doing his 🧻🚽 💀

He plays outside, minds his business, takes naps, and has never experienced burnout a day in his life!

Maybe Ginger is the therapist…🤷🏽‍♀️🤓

🍂 Registration is open for The Turning: A 4-Week Seasonal Wellness Series!

As the days get shorter and the natural world begins to slow down, our bodies respond, too.

The Turning is an invitation to work with the season instead of fighting against it—through nature-informed therapy, nervous system education, acupuncture, plant medicine, and intentional connection.

🍁 October 25 | 10–11 AM
Turning Toward the Season
Hosted by Jess Daniel, LCSW-C, LICSW, Certified Nature-Informed Therapist
Explore how lessening light, colder temperatures, and seasonal changes affect our nervous systems and emotions—and practices for moving with these changes rather than resisting them.

🌿 November 1 | 10–11 AM
Turning Toward the Body
Co-hosted by Samantha Preston, M.Ac., L.Ac., Acupuncturist
Explore the season through the lens of Five Element Acupuncture, followed by community acupuncture during our time of integration.

🌱 November 8 | 10–11 AM
Turning Toward Plant Medicine
Co-hosted by Anne Todd, LMT, Herbalist
Learn about the healing properties of plants available to us during the colder months and explore herbs, teas, tinctures, rubs, essential oils, and other ways plant medicine can support the body and nervous system.

🍂 November 15 | 10–11 AM
Turning Toward What’s Next
Hosted by Jess Daniel, LCSW-C, LICSW, Certified Nature-Informed Therapist
Integrate what we’ve explored, practice intentional release, and consider what nature can teach us about letting go, slowing down, and making space for what comes next.

✨ Come for one session or join us for the full series. Each gathering is capped at 13 people.

☕ Tea available • 🌲 Indoor/outdoor setting • 🛍️ Gift shop access • 🚗 Free parking

The season is already turning. Maybe we don’t have to fight it.

🍂 Registration is open now. Space is limited — reserve your spot through the link in bio.

Burnout can be super sneaky!!

Sometimes it doesn’t look like completely falling apart. It looks like still getting things done, still showing up, still functioning…while everything starts requiring a little more effort than it used to 🙃

Then one day you realize you’re more irritable, less creative, emotionally exhausted, and even the things you normally enjoy feel like another task.

Sometimes recognizing burnout takes a minute because you’ve gotten really good at functioning through it.

Pay attention to the subtle shifts. Your body usually notices before your brain is ready to admit it

09/02/2026

Sometimes burnout isn’t just about everything being asked of us. It’s also about what we keep asking of ourselves…

Overcommitting. Saying yes when we mean no. Treating rest like something we have to earn. Ignoring our limits and then wondering why we’re exhausted.

Radical honesty means noticing where we participate in the patterns that burn us out, not to blame ourselves, but because that’s where we actually have the power to change them.

Burnout recovery isn’t only about doing less. Sometimes it’s about getting honest about why we keep doing too much

08/31/2026

Academic burnout can look like procrastination, brain fog, or losing motivation for something you once cared deeply about📚

Sometimes you don’t need to push harder. You need to understand what’s keeping you in the cycle.

🍾Seven years of Peace In Perspective (8/19/19)🥂

I started this business with a vision, but I don’t think I understood then how much it would ask me to become.

Being a therapist is deeply important to me. To be invited into someone’s life, to witness their grief, growth, fear, joy, heartbreak, healing, and becoming is something I never take lightly. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sitting beside so many people as they found language for what hurt, made sense of what shaped them, and began choosing themselves in new ways.

I love my clients. I love this work. And I’m endlessly grateful for the trust it requires.

Peace In Perspective has reflected back my own courage, limits, growing edges, and the places where I needed to loosen my grip on what I thought success was supposed to look like. It has changed as I have.

Seven years later, I’m proud of what this practice has held, and even more excited for what it can still become.

I’m looking forward to continuing to expand, evolve, and make room for the next expression of this work 🤍
