Carolina BioOncology Institute and BioCytics was proud to be represented at ASCO 2026 by Dr. Neel Gandhi, Principal Investigator and Oncologist, and Ashley Wallace, Sr. Director of Clinical Research Services.

ASCO brings together leading oncologists, researchers, and innovators from around the world to share the latest advances in cancer care and clinical research. From promising new data to discussions shaping the future of oncology, the meeting provides valuable insights that help inform and strengthen the work we do every day.

We are excited to bring these learnings back to our clinic and research program as we continue working to expand treatment options and advance cancer research for patients facing advanced cancers.

Join Dr. John Powderly II MD at the Advanced Therapies Think Tank - AT3 session hosted on June 4th as he discusses whether different novel business models could help expand access to C>s globally.

As more advanced therapies move closer to broader clinical adoption, it’s becoming increasingly important to think beyond the therapy itself and consider point of care manufacturing to deliver therapies effectively.

That includes questions around:
🏥 treatment infrastructure
⚙️ operational scalability
🌍 regional access
💰 and long-term sustainability

Innovative science alone is not enough if patients cannot realistically access these therapies at scale.

Looking forward to discussing this alongside:

As we wrap up Clinical Trials Day, we continue to recognize the people behind every study — the patients, caregivers, and teams who make clinical research possible every day. 💙

For our team, clinical research is more than data and protocols, it’s purpose, patients, and progress in oncology.

We asked our clinical research coordinators: "Why do you rise in research?" 💭🔬Here is part 2 of what they shared.

💙Today, we recognize Clinical Trials Day and the patients, caregivers, physicians, coordinators, nurses, pharmacy, and research teams who make clinical research possible every day.

In advanced cancer care, clinical trials represent both scientific progress and real-world decision making. Participation requires trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to advancing treatment options for the future.

We are deeply grateful for the patients and families who choose to participate in research, and for the dedicated staff who support every step of the clinical trial process. Every advancement in cancer care exists because someone chose to contribute to research.

Together, through collaboration, precision, and continued innovation, we continue working to expand access to better treatment options and advance the future of oncology care. 🔬💙

Clinical Trials Day starts tomorrow, and Carolina BioOncology Institute is proud and excited to celebrate clinical trials all month long. 💙

This year’s theme, Research Rising, recognizes the people behind clinical research and the progress being made through innovation, collaboration, and patient care.

We asked our clinical research coordinators: “What does Research Rising mean to you?” Here’s what they shared. ⬆️🔬

Over 2 Years Later and I Am Not Just Surviving, I Am Living. 💙

This month, we celebrate Alisa Krinsky who is marking 2.5 years on a Phase I clinical trial and share her story of resilience, hope, and what is possible through clinical research. 🌟 Her message is simple and powerful: “I live life, I love hard, and I care for others. I do not dwell on having cancer.”

After being diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Krinsky’s oncologist recommended exploring a clinical trial. From her very first visit, she shares that she felt informed, supported, and confident in her decision to move forward with a Phase I Clinical Trial. Krinsky began her clinical trial in October 2024. Soon after, her tumor sizes began to decrease, and her cancer markers dropped. Overtime, those results continued to improve and then stabilized, which she saw as a win.

When a recent scan showed minor growth, her care team at Carolina BioOncology Institute (CBOI) quickly adjusted her treatment plan and incorporated radiation. After just two weeks, her tumor decreased significantly and her markers dropped again. Recently, her CT scans reveal overall stable/non-evaluable disease.

She shares that beyond the effectiveness of treatment, what stands out most is the compassion of the CBOI team. From the front office to the physicians, she felt truly cared for both as a patient and as a person.

With faith, support from loved ones, and a positive mindset, she continues to move forward. Not just surviving, but living fully.

Clinical trials are about people. They are about possibility. They are about progress.

This Nurses Week and Oncology Nursing Month, we’re taking a moment to recognize the nurses of Carolina BioOncology Institute.💙 🩺🌻

Day after day, you walk alongside our Stage IV cancer patients and their families through uncertainty, long visits, hard conversations, and small victories that matter more than words can say. You bring steadiness when things feel unsteady, and care that extends far beyond the clinical setting.

Your work not only helps advance Phase I immunotherapy research, it also reminds patients and families that they’re not going through this alone. We see your dedication, your patience, and the quiet strength you bring to every interaction. Thank you for the care you give so consistently and wholeheartedly.

Happy Nurses Week and Oncology Nursing Month, and thank you for everything you do.🌻
