⭐️ Meet Emily!

🌀 Tell us your specialties:
I practice psychiatry through a neurobiological and systems-based lens, focusing on how brain chemistry, physiology, biology, and behavioral patterns interact. I specialize in complex presentations where mood, cognition, biology, and life intersect using targeted pharmacology and precise clinical insight. My goal is to identify underlying patterns and translate them into clear, individualized treatment.

🌀 Why did you go into your field?
I was always drawn to a field that allowed for continuity of care and the opportunity to develop deep expertise. During the CV19 pandemic, I found my way into psychiatry and quickly realized it was the right fit. I was drawn to the ability to build long-term relationships with patients, while also engaging in the complexity of psychopharmacology and brain science. Psychiatry uniquely blends the nuance of human behavior with the precision of biology and chemistry, offering a balance of connection and intellectual depth that I find both meaningful and fulfilling.

🌀 What do you enjoy most about your career?
What I love most about my work is being present with patients through their hardest, lowest moments. Truly hearing their struggles, and then having the privilege of witnessing their growth and successes. While psychiatry doesn’t always offer a clear “cure,” it creates space for meaningful change. More stability, improved quality of life, and moments of real joy. Being able to walk alongside patients as that unfolds is what makes the work so meaningful.

🚨 Anxiety can feel like your mind never fully turns off.

The constant overthinking. The racing thoughts. The feeling that something could go wrong at any moment.

It may look like:
🫨 Struggling to focus or make decisions
👀 Feeling restless or constantly on edge
🥱 Trouble sleeping, even when you’re exhausted
😵‍💫 Physical symptoms like headaches, chest tightness, or fatigue
🫣 Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming

Anxiety is common, real, and treatable. You don’t have to keep carrying it alone. 🤍

He has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and is a recipient of the NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist Award. Dr. Chepke specializes in psychopharmacology and oversees treatment planning, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for patients. In addition to his clinical work, he is a renowned educator who frequently lectures nationally and internationally speaker, staying at the forefront of advancements in mental health treatment.

🌀 Tell us your specialties:
My clinical specialties include schizophrenia, mood disorders, ADHD, sleep/wake disorders, and movement disorders related to psychiatric medications. I’m especially passionate about helping people who feel misunderstood, or who feel that the treatments they’ve tried haven’t helped them find the right path forward.

🌀 Why did you go into your field?
I went into psychiatry because it sits at the intersection of science and humanity. The brain is endlessly complex, but so are people’s stories. Psychiatry allows me to combine neurobiology, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and genuine human connection to help people move toward stability, meaning, and a better quality of life.

🌀 What do you enjoy most about your career?
What I enjoy most about my career is getting to teach the people I work with every day—about their condition, their symptoms, their medications, and the “why” behind their treatment plan. I believe people deserve to understand, to the best of our current knowledge, what is happening in their own minds and bodies. When people are better informed, they tend to feel more empowered, and treatment becomes something we do together—not something that is simply done to them.

“I’m trying, but my brain won’t cooperate.”
“Why can’t I just do the thing?”
“Why does everything feel harder for me?”

Adult ADHD is not simply being distracted or disorganized. It can feel like constantly running behind, struggling to start or finish tasks, losing track of details, feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities, or having emotions that flare quickly and are hard to regulate.

Many adults with ADHD have spent years thinking they are lazy, careless, or “not living up to their potential,” when the real issue is how their brain manages attention, motivation, time, and emotional control.

At Excel Psychiatric Associates, the clinicians work together as a team to help adults better understand what ADHD is—and what it is not. We work with patients to make an accurate diagnosis, identify practical treatment goals, and create a plan that helps them function better in real life, not just look better on paper.

If you or someone you love is struggling with symptoms like these, reach out to Excel Psychiatric Associates today to find out more about how we can help.

Adult ADHD is often invisible, but deeply overwhelming.

What looks like procrastination, forgetfulness, disorganization, or inconsistency can actually feel like mental overload, task paralysis, emotional overwhelm, and exhaustion from constantly trying to keep up.

It can also look like:
👉 Constantly running behind.
👉 Feeling overwhelmed by simple tasks.
👉 Starting 10 things and finishing none.
👉 Forgetting details you genuinely care about.
👉 Big emotions that flare quickly.
👉 Feeling mentally exhausted just trying to function.

Many adults with ADHD have spent years blaming themselves before realizing their brain simply processes attention, motivation, time, and regulation differently.

You are not lazy. You are not careless. If you or someone you love is struggling with symptoms like these, reach out to see how we can help.

⭐️ Meet Tiffany!

Every week, we’re going to introduce you to each of our employees here at Excel Psychiatric Associates! First up is Tiffany!

Tiffany is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Nationally Board Certified Integrative Health and Wellness Coach, and co-owner of Excel Psychiatric Associates.

🌀 Tell us your specialties:
I work best with individuals who are motivated to grow and willing to invest in themselves. My practice focuses on young adults, adults, and the aging population, with specialties in life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood regulation, and executive functioning. I enjoy helping clients build insight, develop practical strategies, and create meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.

🌀 Why did you go into your field?
My background in geriatric inpatient psychiatry gave me valuable experience, but it also highlighted the limitations of a system that often prioritizes efficiency over connection. I transitioned into private practice because I believe meaningful change requires time, individualized care, and a strong therapeutic relationship—things that aren’t always possible within more restrictive models. I wanted to create a space where clients feel truly seen, supported, and able to do deeper, lasting work.

🌀 What do you do to relax?
I recharge by keeping things simple and grounding—taking walks, traveling to quiet places, and spending time in Pilates classes with my daughter. Those moments help me reset and stay present both personally and professionally.

🌀 What is your guilty pleasure song?
“Fancy” by Reba McEntire — it’s a classic with a little bit of storytelling and strength woven in.

🌀 What does your dream vacation look like?
My ideal vacation would include exploring Spain and the Canary Islands—somewhere I can be outdoors, hiking, near the water, and fully unplugged. I’m happiest in places that feel both peaceful and inspiring.
