Let this be a friendly reminder of why we don’t use Q Tips in our ears. 😂

This is the head of a Q Tip that was pulled out of an ear canal. What starts as a simple attempt to clean your ears can turn into a foreign body removal.

Your ear canal does not need you digging around in it. Q Tips can push earwax deeper, irritate the ear canal, and potentially injure the eardrum.

If your ears feel clogged, muffled, or uncomfortable, get them checked instead of reaching for another Q Tip.

Guess what was stuck in this ear 👀

A Q tip head lodged in the ear canal.

Using microscopy, we were able to visualize the foreign body and carefully remove it.

Another reminder that Q tips should stay OUT of the ear canal.

If something is stuck in your ear, don't dig around and make it worse. Get it evaluated.
