Yesterday was a beautiful day at Huntington Valley Nursing & Rehab! The sun was shining, conversations were flowing, and smiles filled the faces of our residents as they enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the patio.

There's nothing quite like fresh air, warm sunshine, and good company to brighten the day. Moments like these remind us how important it is to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time together.

Did you know strawberries are the national fruit of May? Of course we had to celebrate in our “What’s Cooking” activity😍

Our residents had a wonderful time learning how to make their very own individual strawberry shortcakes, topped with sweet strawberries and delicious whipped cream.

The smiles said it all and yes, they were absolutely delicious!

Our residents spent the day being pampered and feeling their very best. They enjoyed getting their hair done by our wonderful beautician while the staff treated them to relaxing manicures. Smiles were shining, confidence was glowing, and everyone loved showing off their fresh new looks.

Fresh air, sunshine, and great company made for a beautiful day at Huntington Valley Nursing & Rehab! ☀️

We took some of our residents out for a stroll along the scenic Pennypack Trail. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy some light exercise, breathe in the fresh air, and take in a wonderful change of scenery. Moments like these remind us how important it is to stay active, connected with nature, and enjoy the simple pleasures together. 💚

We celebrated our residents who had May birthdays at our monthly birthday party at Huntington Valley, Nursing and Rehab🥳

DJ Neil, our interactive DJ, kept the party going with great music while residents sang along, shook their musical instruments, and enjoyed celebrating together. Of course, no birthday party is complete without a delicious birthday cake! The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of fun. A wonderful time was had by all! 🎂🥳

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Today, we had the privilege of sitting down with two of our Veterans, Victor and Mike, who proudly served in the Air Force, to ask them what Memorial Day means to them.

Both shared that this day brings memories of the friends they lost in service. Victor reflected on friends he lost during the Iraq War, while Mike remembered those he lost in Vietnam. Their stories remind us that Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it is a time of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection for those who gave everything for our freedom.

This week at Huntington Valley Nursing & Rehab, our Director of Rehab, Jessica, planned a fun and festive Memorial Day-themed activity for our residents!

We played Musical Hot Potato using an American flag while the music played, and when the music stopped… you were out! But the fun didn’t stop there as each eliminated player had to answer a Memorial Day trivia question before leaving the game.

It was wonderful seeing our residents engaged, smiling, and enjoying time together while honoring the meaning of Memorial Day ❤️🤍💙
