Homework doesn’t always become a battle because a child is “lazy” or unmotivated. 💚
Sometimes, they’re mentally exhausted, overwhelmed, distracted, anxious, or simply unsure where to begin.
Before correcting the behavior, try getting curious about what’s making homework feel difficult. A little connection and understanding can go a long way.

Hey, we get it. When you’re asking your child to do the same thing for the 10th time, it’s easy to wonder, “Why can’t they just do it?” 😅

You’re not a bad parent for thinking it. Sometimes what looks like laziness is actually a skill your child is still developing. Understanding executive functioning can help us shift from frustration to support. 💛
