We heard you were asking to speak to the manager? Well, how can I help?

****UPDATE**** They are home safely! Thanks for all the help!

Hi Everyone, this is Alex, the practice manager at Sunstone Animal Hospital and I’m hoping I can get some help from the HB community. I very recently moved into HB and admits the moving process, a gate was left open. Both my dogs, Sunny and Luca got out about 7:30am this morning (719/26).

I’ve called local shelters and provided them with their microchip information and have posted on Facebook/Nextdoor.

Sunny has history of reactivity to other dogs and was originally a shelter rescue. She was hit by a car when LBACS took her in and she’s been a member of my family the last 2 years. Shes a dream with my daughter and I just want to get her home safely.
Luca, I adopted as an 8 week old pup and he’s been growing along side my daughter ever since.

Any help, share, and best wishes are appreciated.
Hoping I can bring my fur babes home.

Alexandra Rivera

Potato said “healthy boy summer starts with cucumbers!” Nail trims are much less dramatic when snacks are involved! Low calorie, hydrating, crunchy and apparently the highest value treat in the world according to potato.
Proof that healthy habits can still be cute!

What a year. ❤️
Looking back at these moments, we are overwhelmed with gratitude — for our incredible team, our amazing clients, the rescue partners who trust us, and every furry family member who walked through our doors in 2025. Thank you for believing in us, supporting our mission, laughing with us, crying with us, and allowing us to care for those you love most. It’s truly an honor.

We will be closed from 12/24/24 through 1/4/26 to give our team much-needed rest with their families and we will reopen on 1/5/26.

We will still be available for limited needs:
• Medication pick-ups:
12/29 from 10:30am–12:30pm
• Urgent care walk-ins:
1/2 from 9am–4pm

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an unforgettable year. We’re rested, recharged, and ready to hit the ground running into 2026 with compassion, purpose, and the same love for your pets that drives us every single day. 🧡

See you next year, Sunstone family.

Mama dog, “Hazel” will be living up on a 2 acre lot in Oregon in her cozy new home and lots of land to roam while “Fiona” will be living the good life in her new home in Washington with new cat siblings and a family ready to take her on an abundance of adventures. 🌞 Welcome Dr. David Higginbotham! 🐾

We’re beyond excited to welcome Dr. David Higginbotham to the Sunstone Animal Hospital family! 💛

He earned his degree in Biology from Long Beach State and went on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2007. Dr. David brings a calm, practical, and caring approach to every patient he meets — and we can’t wait to have his steady energy around the clinic!

When he’s not caring for your pets, you’ll probably find him hiking, fishing, gardening, or getting lost (in the best way) in the beautiful Eastern Sierra mountain range 🌲⛰️🎣

We’re feeling so lucky to have him join our Sunstone Family — stop by and say hi to Dr. David 👋🐶🐱
