We perform many different implant procedures from single tooth implants, immediate implant placement after extraction to full arch implant solutions for our patients. Often we are asked about full arch solutions for patients but we remind people that not everyone fits into a singular treatment option. This patient received 7 implants with internal sinus lifting.

Today Dr Telles received his 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine as well as Dr Karki. So far so good. We are glad to help keep our families, patients and ourselves safe. Let’s all do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. All of our Drs and staff whom wanted the vaccine have received it so far. Stay safe and let’s be positive together moving 2021 forward in the right direction.

Over this pandemic there have been ups and downs. Yesterday I received notifications from 3 regional hospitals that I qualified for the vaccination. Today I will received the vaccination seeing that this is One Step Closer to Life (like the Mxpx song goes).

As an oral surgeon I have been working under an n95 and full gear since the start of the pandemic because we as doctors have an obligation to our patients to be there for them and to prevent them from going to the ERs especially right now. I will share my experience with the vaccination should anyone have an interest to hear about it. Just message us.

Please consider our healthcare workers and get vaccinated when it is your turn seeing that this will prove to help develop herd immunity and move society forward in a positive direction. Until then wear a mask, be kind to each other and hopefully we will have this under control soon.

We are annnouncing the return of routine oral surgical procedures. Based on the recent updates from the California department of public health - dentistry is now open for preventative and elective procedures.

When you return to our practice you make notice some changes that we have made to help keep you safe and do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

1) Sneeze guards for all of our front desks employees
2) Minimal number of patients in the waiting room - we ask that unless you are the patient’s parent or caregiver to please wait in the car to help minimize additional people in the office
3) please wear a mask until treatment OR a procedure is to commence - this has been recommended by several groups including the ADA, CDA and CDC
4) we are minimizing the use of aerosolizing procedures - our hand pieces are NOT air driven and hence the result means less air/water aerosols during any surgical procedures in our office - we use Hall drills with external irrigation as well as electric driven hand pieces with external irrigation when required
5) temperature checks for all patients/ people entering the office including staff - you will be asked a few pertinent COVID related questions on our standard forms in order to be seen in the practice
6) medify air filters in all of the surgery rooms - these unique filters help to limit the spread of any potential aerosols which filter particles as small as 0.1 micron - we cycle our units for 15-20 minutes to help filter the air between patient encounters
7) deep cleaning of all operatories in our practice between patients have always been standard
8 ) iQair - hepa filter with UV technology in our waiting room to filter and treat/cycle the Amiens air and limit any potential spread
9) All procedures performed will be done with our staff fully gowned in head to toe PPE including face shields and n95 or equivalent masks
10) Non-treatment of any symptomatic or fever noted preemptively will be referred to your primary care physician for screening, testing and clearance when indicated

We look forward to your return as a patient to our office. As oral surgeons we are trained in the hospital setting and have encountered patients with potential airborne illnesses since we have taken care of those patients in our training. For further information about our office or to schedule an appointment please call 714-766-6560.

May everyone stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon,

Regards,

Dr Telles, Marshall, Hochwald and the rest of the Team at HBOMFS.

To our friends and colleagues,

We received notification from the California Dental Association, strongly recommending that dentists in California suspend nonessential dental care for until April 30th to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The CDA/ADA does not make this request lightly, and it is being done out of an abundance of caution during this historic public health emergency.

As a direct result of recommendations by the CDA, we are seeing urgent and emergency patients at the moment. If you have any questions or concerns please call us anytime. Dr. Telles will be taking care of all emergency patients during this time. As oral surgeons it is our duty to provide emergency care to help prevent our patients from going to the ER.

If you are experiencing any of these conditions such as pain, swelling, infection, trauma, laceration, etc. please call our office.

Please remember to wash your hands, exercise, take your Vitamins including C and Zinc and stay well.

Thank you for your understanding and we will be back in full operation based on dental organization recommendations if everything goes according to plan by the end of the month.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon,

Drs Telles, Marshall and Hochwald

Did you know ? Dr Telles is on the board of the Orange County Dental Society? His current position is Vice President. Since 2015 he has been an active participant on the board of OCDS.

As part of the position, he is an ad hoc member in the OCDS Foundation.

Today Dr Telles volunteered his time to help out in our first event for the foundation helping underserved homeless in our local community with dental extractions and other surgical needs. This was purely voluntary and a thank you to our community we are so blessed to serve.

Thank you to Dr. Mokbel for the dedication he has provided in becoming our foundation’s president. This event is the first of many to come with the foundation.

“We are only as good as those wonderful patients we are able to serve.”
