Volume loss and loose skin can look similar , but they’re not the same concern.

After significant weight loss, some people may notice changes in facial fullness. Others may notice increased skin laxity. And some may experience both.

Why does the difference matter?

Because the right aesthetic approach depends on what actually changed, along with your facial anatomy, skin quality and individual goals.

That’s why at Medical Laser & Aesthetics, we believe in evaluation first, treatment second.

Save this Reel if you’ve noticed facial changes after weight loss, and schedule an evaluation to understand your individual needs.

You reached your weight-loss goal… but your face may have changed along the way.

Significant weight loss can be accompanied by changes in facial volume, skin laxity and the appearance of folds or wrinkles, including around the jawline and eyes.

That doesn’t make your weight-loss success any less worth celebrating.

It simply means that before considering an aesthetic treatment, it’s important to understand what actually changed, because volume loss and loose skin aren’t necessarily the same concern.

Save this Reel. Next, we’re breaking down volume loss vs. skin laxity and why the difference matters.

The right treatment starts with understanding the cause.

What you see on the surface doesn’t always tell the whole story. That’s why at Medical Laser & Aesthetics, we believe in evaluating first and treating second.

Your skin, facial structure, history and goals all matter when determining the right approach for you.

Because great aesthetic care isn’t about chasing symptoms. It’s about understanding what your face and skin actually need.

You reached your weight-loss goal… so why does your face suddenly look different?

“Ozempic face” or “GLP-1 face”, is a popular term used to describe facial changes some people notice after significant weight loss, such as decreased facial volume, increased skin laxity, and more noticeable folds or wrinkles.

The important distinction: this isn’t simply about one medication. Significant or rapid weight loss itself can affect facial appearance.

And not everyone experiences the same changes.

That’s why the first step isn’t choosing a treatment. It’s identifying what actually changed in your face.

Save this Reel, next we’re explaining WHY these changes can happen after weight loss.

What happens when we put Dr. B and Lane together and ask them the questions patients really want answered?

At Medical Laser & Aesthetics, patient education is an important part of the treatment process.

There is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer in aesthetics. Your skin, facial structure, medical history, concerns and goals all play a role in determining which options may be appropriate for you.

That’s why we believe good aesthetic care starts with something simple:

Ask questions. Understand your options. Then make an informed decision.

And we’re bringing more of those conversations here.

Have something you’ve always wanted to ask an aesthetic provider?

Leave your question below. It might become our next “ASK DR. B & Lane” video.

Improving Deep, Etched Glabellar Lines (“11s”)

Deep, etched glabellar lines develop after years of repeated muscle contraction from frowning. Once they become established, neuromodulators such as Botox are less effective: they may soften the lines, but the creases are now static rather than dynamic.

Several treatment options can help improve these lines.

Prevention is the first step. Consistent use of neuromodulators in this area can make lines less pronounced and easier to treat. Preventing permanent “11s” with neuromodulators is a worthwhile investment.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers may seem like an option, but many injectors avoid this area because of its dense and sometimes variable vascular supply.

Surgery is generally a last resort because of the risk of scarring.

A combination of neuromodulators and resurfacing is most effective for mild to moderate static glabellar lines, especially when they are not tethered to the underlying tissue. For deep, attached static lines, careful, focused, and gentle subcision under ultrasound guidance is recommended.

When will I actually see my Sculptra results?

It’s one of the most common questions patients have about Sculptra, and the answer starts with understanding that Sculptra works differently from treatments designed to create an immediate correction.

Sculptra is a PLLA collagen stimulator. It works by helping stimulate your body’s own collagen production, which means improvement develops gradually over time rather than appearing as your final result immediately after treatment.

According to current Sculptra patient information, results may become noticeable as early as about one month for many patients, while treatment commonly involves a series of sessions based on individual needs. Results can last up to two years in some patients.

That’s also why your treatment timeline is personal.

At Medical Laser & Aesthetics, Dr. B evaluates your facial structure, skin quality, concerns, and goals before developing an individualized treatment plan.

The goal isn’t an overnight transformation. It’s gradual, natural-looking improvement that still looks like you.

Curious about what your Sculptra journey could look like? Schedule a personalized evaluation with Dr. B.
